I am sorry for the loss of your mother. You did all you could to take care of her for so long, and that is something to be proud of. I am certain you have many happy memories of better times spent with her.

Hi MacWolf. i know what it feels like to lose a parent. Time helps. Friends help. A lot of us know exactly what you are feeling so talk to us if you need to. I hope you can take solace in the fact that she lived a good long life and went peacefully.

When one loses a parent one can take comfort that for thousands of years the daughters and sons have gone through the same ordeal we have and somehow survived. It's an experience we all can share as family.
In case I haven't said it already, I deeply appreciate the friends I have here who have called, written or post about mom.

I am so sorry Mac. I wish there was something I could say or do. Both you and your mom will be in my prayers tonight. God bless and keep you both.

Wolfe,
You have done for your Mother, care and support for the best Quality of life possible, more than others ever think of doing. Now is the time to move forward to enjoy your Quality of Life.

Re: One Day in the Life of a Wolf - Memorial 7-25-20
it seems my $537 a month from social security isn't going as far as I thought it would. It looks like I will need to give up both gas and telephone. I'm paying my electric, cable, Internet, water and trash bills just fine and there's enough for food.
Unfortunately, there's not enough for property taxes.
I know there's a solution as I think of one.
As far as mom's funeral is concerned, there won't be one if the federal cemetery doesn't accept her.

Uncle Wolfie,
A wise friend, an older man with whom I like to chat, fish, and hunt, offers this advice to those newly bereaved:
"Grieve mightily and with all your broken heart but for one year and one year only. As each special day...a birthday, anniversary, holiday...any day special to you and the lost loved one passes another part of the wound closes.
At the end of that year, not one moment longer, cast off your grief and embark on a lifelong celebration of your loved one's life and the richness it brought to your own."
Your mom gave you life, Dear Wolfie, and now you must honor her by living it to the fullest.
My sincerest condolences and best wishes.
Yoli
The adoring "niece" you've never met.

As if dealing with a parent's death wasn't enough, funeral homes suck.
Good news - Arlington National Cemetary said they would accept my mother free of charge because my father was a combat veteran of WWII.
Bad news - I told the funeral home which is holding mom's body
what I found out and they said they would ship her after "fees" were paid. They want $1,460 to ship her over PLUS cost of a casket.
Somehow it doesn't look like mom will be interred anytime soon
