Transfering of Old Threads

Post by Bboy »

I do want to apologize for my inability to transfer existing threads. Part of what made UltraBoard such a resource hog was the crazy way it stored messages and built threads. The formats are so wildly different between the products that it is virtually impossible to transfer threads from one to another.

Ask Paolo - I was up literally all night last night re-coding this new software so it would use your existing username and password (it originally used a different encryption scheme for the password and only had a username instead of a username/nickname like UltraBoard).

I had to custom code conversion programs to bring over usernames, passwords, signatures, and private messages.

That being said, I will endevor when I get home from work to experiment some more with thread conversion.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the new software. It was expensive, but it has a lot of nifty features yet still has close to the look and feel of UltraBoard so (I am hoping) that not too many people get lost.

:p Yep, up until the wee hours of the morning. Bboy even wore me out, and I usually stay up until 4 or 5 am. Unless there's a hideous outcry of posts for the old postings, which I don't think there will be, I'm more than willing to repost the non-fiction articles if the raw text of them can be sent over to me.

:) I remember there were some interesting posts that would be nice to have. The one about movies. And others I can't remember as yet, but by no means all. I would like the board to be of high info content seeing as my new56 k modem doesn't seem to work faster but slower.

Also I can't seem to remember the board before the last. Nostalgic me.

Also I liked the buttons below the names on the last board . I am sure you made the right desision

when you talk about coding is that programming in C++ or something easier. thanks for all your work.

indeed the old threads and the postings (especially the links), so profound and precise: it would be a loss of thoughts, infos and even feelings. I have spent several hours of reading the profound articles of eunuchs in arts and news or the non-fiction articles. Perhaps you find a good way to transfer the (plain) text and step by step.

I know that's really a quantity of work...I would say: I do appreciate your work for the eunuch community (and the wannabes). So my deep and special thanks for Bboy and Paolo.

;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I am new kid on the block here, so not that many of the old threads and posts are important to me. Nevertheless I understand the value of what bboy and Paolo are doing, and I wanted to add my appreciation.

You guys are something!
