Shehnaz Sani, who was allegedly sexually abused by her boss Abdul Elah Bahrani
Santacruz-based Saudi Arabian Airlines employee Shehnaz Sani (53), who was allegedly sexually abused by her boss, has sought castration charges against him under the Shariah Law. The man, Abdul Ellah Bahrani (60), is a Saudi national.
Despite various court judgments in her favour, the airline has not given her dues since 1999, ever since she was transferred to the cargo division in Chennai, from a customer service agent in Mumbai. She said that women were never given a posting in the cargo division.
Since the airline snubbed court orders, Sani decided to seek justice under the Shariah Law. She lodged a complaint with the president and chief judge of the Shariah Council in Jeddah, Saleh Bin-Humaid seeking punishment for Bahrani. Sani said, Considering the humiliation and mental torture I suffered, even castration would be lenient.
Sani has also forwarded her complaint to Saudi king Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz-al-Saud and director general of Saudi Arabian Airlines Khaled A Ben Bakr.
I have approached the Shariat Council as the airline seems to have no respect for the Indian judiciary. I hope the council gives me justice, she said. Sani is not required to appear personally before the council.
Flashback
In 1983, Sani was allegedly subject to a series of sexual abuses by Bahrani. She was made to stay back in office for after hours, assaulted on a few occasions.
She was also asked to come to his residence at midnight to discuss work. Besides wanting Bahrani castrated, she also wants him to be given 40 lashes. She is peeved that the airline has retained Bahrani even after the charges.
The airline is guilty of contempt of court. I hope the Shariat Council will help me get justice, she added.
Manager of Saudi Arabian Airlines in India Mohsin M Algarni refused to comment as the matter is sub-judice.

Generally, the testimony of only one woman doesn't mean much under that system. It takes 3 or 6 to get the job done.
Let's face it, she is screwed.

I read somewhere that the testimony of one man was equal to that of three women.A-1 (imported) wrote: Thu May 11, 2006 3:52 am Generally, the testimony of only one woman doesn't mean much under that system. It takes 3 or 6 to get the job done.
