I ve read alot of the posting here lately and have enjoyed everyone's input. My personal experience was similiar to those who gained weight while taking it. I gained about 15 lbs and was very active. I also lost quite a bit of muscle and tried to maintain a good workout program but just couldnt keep up- my muscles wouldn't heal and I remained full of lactic acid for days.
I wonder if taking less Andro or just taking Spiro would reduce the bad effects per se. Spiro from what I have read appears to help reduce water retention, that seems better for weight control.
I expected stamina, sex drive, and strength to be reduced- just not that much so fast! I stopped using the Andro after the significant weight gains and went on a diet, now I have lost 20 lbs after a very intense veggie diet.
I would like to give another shot at chemical castration, but am weighing my options right now.
Anyone have any thoughts/advice?

min, Totally agree with you. The weight gain scares the bejeebies out of me. I think I am ready to deal with the muscle loss but not the weight.

I normally wouldn't pay much attention to this thread. I had very good physical reasons for being castrated and had been so advised in my early 20s. I have an active libido, and that's never troubled me except in so far that there's been some motivation to sleep with whomever despite being castrated....My life partner accepts that aspect of me.
Advice...If you're troubled by weight gain, please be very careful in how you proceed. I've had some issues with weight, as well as with maintenance of muscle mass. BTW, lifting weights will do nothing for you. Only a good cardio program will keep the weight off. Weight-lifting only builds muscle mass. It does nothing - I mean nothing! - to reduce fat unless you're young. That's a fact of middle age. I swim (500 m/wk) - not enough!, I bike (~300 km/wk), and I run (~30 km/wk) and keep my weight constant. I'm now 140 #s - at 174 cm tall, down from my max of 165 #s.
The only thing I might add is that I had a major health scare this winter - heart attack in early February - quite a major surprise in light of my general fitness level. Aside from the surgery to correct what some of the world's best cardiologists speculated was a congenital defect, being fit was a major plus in healing the heart muscle. I'm now being weaned off the recovery meds, and my cardiologist has asked that I just see him in another year. Lucky indeed. My advice is to maintain weight control, no matter what else you may do. If you want to try to simulate what might occur with castration, go ahead and do so, but be prepared to work to achieve your objective.

Jeff,
I really appreciate you taking time to respond, it's nice to hear from an experienced person on this board - the advice was very well read and taken!
I am still figuring out my options, and will try to get an cardio/fat burn workout implemented to help keep of the fat if I give it another go around.
I am sorry to hear of your scare with the heart problem, thank goodness for good docs and your fitness level.
Thanks again for the advice!
