Can anything be done to keep this from happening again?

This is the second time in a period of months that someone has trashed Eunuch Archive. The last time we lost a lot of material. It has also caused a lot of problems and headaches for the administrators of Eunuch Archive and I want to again thank them for their efforts and hard work getting the site back up.

I doubt that whoever did this specifically targeted Eunuch Archive, my guess is it was someone who just gets their jollies out of trashing other people's web sites and causing problems and upsetting others. I've never understood people like that and I never will. I was raised to respect other people's property and such.

Anyway, is there anything we can do to keep this from happening again? I'm sure there are laws and regulations, but often it's a matter of the laws and regulations keeping up with technology, and technology keeping up with security needs.

Unfortunately it seems no matter what security measures are taken, someone will find a way around them. But I wish there was a way to keep this from happening again.

Nothing is overlooked this time, but that doesn't mean we're safe or that it can't happen again.

Having your web site hacked into twice is kind of like having your home broken into twice. It changes your sense of and focus on security.

I'm sure the administrators here will be more watchful, and knowing it can happen again and being on guard for it is probably the best security measure there is. Of course if you know who did it then you know who and what to watch for in the future.

Let's hope and pray this never happens to Eunuch Archive again.
