Erica Ann,

I'm happy for you. My trip to Philadelphia last April lives warmly in my memory. I trust you'll be staying in the Best Western. Don't expect to see the sights after surgery since you'll have an ice pack for 48 hours and should have your feet up "as much as reasonably possible" for two weeks.

I'd gladly go to Dr. Kimmel for more surgery (but that costs money!).

Dear Erica Ann

Thank you for your quick response. I have similer circumstances to yours. we have been married 39 years and known each other since she was 16 and I was 19. I came out to my wife about 15 years ago and it was not good. She is slowly coming around to accepting me for who I really am but it has been hard for her.

You state your wife appreciates your lack of testosterone. What if any and what amount of chemicals/hormones are you using? I know there are other threads dealing with this subject but since your story is similar to mine I am follwing yours with great interest.

I brought up the subject of castration this week (thanks to all those who have contributed here) and suprisingly she didn't freak and we had a reasonable conversation about it. I think it will happen eventually. (after chemical castration first of course) I am planning on starting therapy very soon to get the official nod for hormones anti antrogens. I feel confident about the path I'm on.

I've been studying this subject for some time and really appreciate all the great information and dialog in the Eunuch Archives.

LOL and My thoughts will be with you Friday

I'm not too concerned with the psychological implications as I have been a chemical eunuch for a while now. ...So far as people noticing that you're a eunuch, I have read many posts in the community regarding this topic, some even regarding nudists colonies, and it would appear that many people just do not notice especially wearing a bathing suit, even one as small as a Speedo. Don't be concerned about that at all!

I'
ve posted on this topic before. I've been ballless for ~6 years. I'm nude a lot - locker rooms, gay dance clubs, hot tub parties, nude beaches, etc. While I'm sure that some people notice or wonder about the lack of scrotal contents, no one has ever said anything. A few sex partners have asked. That's it. I'm also lucky to have a BF who likes playing with my empty sac and thinks I look better w/o balls.

Dear Lindaleah,

I am currently taking, on a daily basis, 300 Mg. of Spironolactone, morning, noon and night. 8 Mg. of Estrofem, 4 Mg. morning and evening and 325 Mg. of an enteric coated aspirin. The aspirin is at the suggestion of Dr. Kimmel.

I just took my first hormone test and have sent it to the lab for analysis and am awaiting the results before making any adjustments, which I will also discuss with the good doctor when I see him the end of March.

I'll keep you posted. And yes, I fully agree with you, there are many people within this Community in which we can all learn a great deal from. :)

If you're a MTF transsexual and have been taking chemical castration for a while, you probably could get a better surgeon than Kimmel to operate on you. No offense, but his track record is inconsistent, and he's really only a good option for those who can't progress toward SRS through mainstream medical community.

Hey Gang,

How about a little help or sharing of some knowledge. I received the results of my first hormone test an am having a little problem interpreting the testosterone level. My level is currently 70.4 pg/ml (244.5 pmol/L). Does this sound kinda high? Just wanted to get a second opinion on this one. Any advise?

But then again, it really doesn't matter all that much considering my appointment with Dr. Kimmel is just 3 short weeks away! ;)

Thanks,

Hello EricaAnn

I'm no expert but what I read is less than 85 ng/ml testosterone is typical for MTF and females. Your reading said Pg/ml is this a typo? I will be off line for next 10 days going to vist relatives. Did you go to a Dr or mail in kit? if so which one did you use and what was the cost? I need to have mine checked again.

In a prior post you said you are

Are there any other (good or bad) effects?

My spouse is finally (after about 15 years of denial) coming around to accepting my feminine side. The other night I said I needed to be female and aked if she didn't mind. She blew me away and said ok and thanks for asking.

Lindaleah

ps very injoyable evening infem. Didn't want to go to bed that night

Dear Lindaleah,

No, the pg/ml is not a typo. That is the way my test results were returned to me. The female hormone test kit I used I obtained on line from caigmedical.com. They're normally $65.00 each, but by purchasing 3 at a time the cost per test kit drops to $60.00 each. The cost includes the test kit materials, which is a saliva test, the packing materials to return the samples, lab processing costs and the next day air delivery. Not too bad of a deal.

As far as good and bad effects, I haven't found a bad one yet and to be quite honest, I even like myself a little better without the testosterone!

My wife too is coming around to thinking more of me as female rather than a male. We have even discussed the possibility of some day going through with the SRS and completing the process, but we'll have to wait to see what the future holds in store! :)
