If you compare the lowest male voice ever and highest female voice ever, then its much more than an octave and a half. (See my first statement.) Also depends on their ages, training, etc. Certainly, a little girl will have a MUCH higher voice than say, the guy that voice Tony the Tiger.![]()
You're right, Moreschi. My bad. My memory failed me. I found the Internet article which I was recalling, and you're right. I got the range of octaves wrong. The point is, there is overlap in pitch between men's and women's voices, which makes it doable to develop a voice of the opposite gender.
