I m in the late 30 and always had the wish to become a transgender. Not by a SRS, but by taking hormones like deprovera or similar medicamentation.
I have to admit I m just at the beginning to think about this in reality. I have learned a lot by browsing throuh this forum. Here I have gotten a lot about the risks to do it by myself without a Doctors help.
What I missed is that nobody writes about changes for the voice, i.e. getting a higher pitch of voice. Is it possible to get a change by taking the same hormones like for a chemical castration?
During my researches I found a lot of TG - site where the tg´s have almost a high and womanly voice. I wrote in this ones forums, but nobody could help me.
Can anybody here in this forum give information about my question?

A man's voice is low because his voice box (also called "adam's apple") has grown during puberty. Taking female hormones will not reduce the voice box, so your voice will stay low. Most transgendered women eventually get surgery to tighten the vocal cords and reduce the size of the adam's apple.

To answer your question about voice, no it will not change by taking hormones, nor will it change by being castrated.
Once you pass puberty and your voice begins to break, it will never go back to the higher pitch. However, there are ways to train the voice to speak in a feminine tone, and there are also surgeries that can be done on the vocal cords. The latter being very risky.
Many of the TS women have learned to train the voice, and there are books and CD's out there that you can buy to help do this. Only a few lucky ones can train the voice to sound completly feminine. I myself have read the many ways and have listened to the CD's to try and sound female. Best I can do at this point is to be barely passable.
I will say this though, feeling feminine has greatly increased the desire to sound feminine also.

Yes, it's hard work, but it can be done. I read somewhere that the highest pitch female voice and the lowest pitch male voice are an octave and a half apart. However, a single adult voice has a range of one octave, so there's plenty of room for overlap.

A perfectly feminine voice is not achieveable for all, and for those few who do reach that perfect pitch, it usually takes years of practice. Since the adam's apple is primarily what affects the voice, those with smaller apples are going to find it easier than those with larger.

If you identify with males, why would you then want to take on female characteristics? Also, you use the word 'forced' in the section on desires. That sounds more like male libido speaking than anything.
In any case, it should correct itself with time. Once you start taking androgen blockers, any libido-driven desires should dissipate fairly quickly. Since you won't be getting surgery, you can back out later except for permanent effects (if any) of whatever drugs you use.

At first to Bryan: Sorry for my poor english. I m here since several years, but sometimes I don´t know the exactly translation of english words into my home language german. So I mean "intentify" is the same that I m a male. And "forced", hm, I have seen into my translation book, no this is not my intention eventhough I read some storys here in the story archieve in wich I like some - let me say it so -, cutting off a cock by somethingelse. i.e. at slaves.

For that reason I will tell u which intension I had with my question.
Since my youth I had fun to play in female dressing, i.e in theatre of shool. That was in my puberty. Sexually I don´t remember if I liked it. As usual I had petting with girls, but masturbating with other school friends. Later on I had sometimes real sex with boys, but with girls,too. My libido was strong with the boys, weaker with girls - I thought due my relative small genitals ( about 5"). Because I have had very conservatively parents I married a girl, who I loved and she me too so I guessed. But within our marriage I had meetings with several boys, one of them got a real friend of mine. At first my wife accept this cause her sexual desire wasn´t strong. But our relationship became more and more difficult. After 10 years - we got no children - we divorced. That was 7 y ago.
Since that I have had only sexual contacts with males.
To my question: During all relationships I was a so called bottom type. Perhaps am I submissive, I don´t know, but I like more to be penetrated than i do it. And since sevaral years I wished i could be a female. When I go out I often wear female clothes. But I lived in a small town and all neighbors got a curious look. I m baker of trade, I have had as customer married females and so on. My business slowed down. Due this I changed to spain. And here I feel me well.
But to an complete sexchange i can´t decide myself. At first I m a little bit afraid about operations. At second I can´t imagine to have an vagina, crazy I know.I don´t know best i would stay as I am. Only with a womanly voice. In addition I like to be penetrated anally. As far as I know a surgical transformed vagina is very difficult to build up with all sensitive nerves to get further orgasm and very expensive. I have talked with a lot of "commercial" TG´s and they all adviced me, to make a specific female hormones treatment, especially to get as "starter" for more female formed body shape - without any surgery help, i.e. breast enlargment, hips and so - I would get it after a while in some month or just one or two years. Within tis time i would loose my sexdrive,erections, ejuculation etc,of course, but only if I would be on hormones. Later on I could stopp it from time to time if i wished to get my sexdrive back. Only getting a higher pitch - that would be impossible. So my TG friends her in spain.

Even though I have some accounts to commercial transgender sites. On this sites I can downloading videos which show trans girls with a very womanly voice. obviously they r not dubbed. A friend of mine is an elecronic engineer, who is specialised for dubbing commercial pictures. He has an audio equipment for detecting false dubbing. And he told me, these vids would be real. On the other hand I can´t imagine that all these girls could be so well trained to get a higher voice. Especially I have seen it at brazilien sites, where these trans girls have a poor social proximity.
I have written to some girls, but their reply is always the same. We take sepial hormones. Some say it would be a secret treatment - from specialised doctors.
Some invited me to go to Brazil to verify that. But careful as I am, it could be a form of robbery.
Sometimes I think all is a nightmare.

I can identify with your statement. My libido had become a nightmare, the worst stretch lasting 4 months. When the waves of sexual thoughts were around, it was like a black cloud hovered over my day. When the waves were gone, all was sunny and clear.
Ask yourself: Does your libido take you places you want to go? Or is it working against you?
If it takes you places you'd rather not go, consider taking depo-provera for the castration effects. See what life is like without libido. Then decide what you want to do next. There's a beautiful world out there.

Huh? A range of only an octave? Hardly. Usually, its about 2 1/2 octaves- sometimes 3. And that's just ONE person. If you compare the lowest male voice ever and highest female voice ever, then its much more than an octave and a half. (See my first statement.) Also depends on their ages, training, etc. Certainly, a little girl will have a MUCH higher voice than say, the guy that voice Tony the Tiger.
