You are absolutely correct, the former WPATH and DSM-IV treatment protocols are far too narrow. Fortunately, they were adopted over ten years ago, and are now about to be revised to support a much wider spectrum of non-binary gender identities. It's taken this long for the psychiatric and medical communities to collectively recognize there is a larger range of gender expression than simply either/or. The new protocols aren't perfect, but they are immensely better. Now, if only I could get my spouse to allow me more freedom of expression.

If you don't mind me being nosy, is your spouse a cisgender woman? Does she only accept what is consider a normal man or woman?

Balls should not be implanted internally as they will become more likely to become cancerous. Your other choices could possibly be accomplished but getting a shrink and surgeon to agree might be impossible.

Yup, she's a natal woman, and only believes in the dichotomy/binary roles of man/woman. She also cannot separate her concept of our marriage from my individual gender identity. She refuses to live with me in a female role, because she doesn't want to be seen as a lesbian. :(

I'm sorry you have to face such a difficult situation. However, I empathize what your spouse is going through. Accepting your complete transition perhaps makes her feel like your marriage has been a lie since the beginning.

I believe that each of us is capable of loving a person of the same or opposite sex if we let our heart do its beat. I'm gay, but if I happen to love a woman some day, I won't get panic. Every person has a limit of tolerance. Maybe accepting your identity is one thing; physically wanting you is another. Probably your wife is in a dilemma. I sincerely hope that she can sort out everything with you

mynhii85 (imported) wrote: Sat Aug 27, 2011 9:45 pm Well, I identify myself as a homosexual man whose gender expression tends to lean more towards feminine side. That feminine side is not strong enough to make me want to live my life as a woman but make me desire to have a "small" female sex characteristic. I don't want an exact vagina; I don't want my penis to be cut; I only want to have my testicles gone and an orifice created under my scrotal area. What am I? Absolutely not a transwoman or a bi-gender person. I'm only a man whose femininity wants be recognized on the body.

If I'm not a freak, I'm probably the weirdest amongst transgendered people assuming that transgender is an appropriate label on me.

I felt very similar when I started this thread back on 2003. Seems like a life time ago now. :)

Her thought process isn't going quite that deep or that far back, honestly. She'd miss the penis more than anything else, even though she rarely desires it.

That's just it, I'd be the same person, but she'd miss what I had taken away, even though she rarely takes advantage of it. If it's such a huge thing to her for me to have a penis, why doesn't she use it more?

hai, this is something i also want to do. didnt even know it was possible or what that it was called 'scrotal inversion'. i am a bit adismayed that this or any similar procedure would require going to an exoensive special out of my state [ rhode island] or even out of country. :(

i only have medicare and medicaid and expect little if any of this would be covered :'(

i do appreciate the topic being addressed and thank the posters and responders for that.

You are over 65 years old, aren't you? I think that only young people like me struggle with self identity in terms of gender and sex. I don't know that even old people have issue too.

I am over 65 and still have those same issues that I had when I Was young. I never had the opportunity to do anything about them.
