Biblical Clarifications...
Re: Biblical Clarifications...
You have to admit, sometimes it's interesting to fire up our own Wayback here and see what pops up.

Re: Biblical Clarifications...
A gay minister once told me there are seven admonitions to homosexuals in the Bible and over 300 to heterosexuals. He said that wasn't because homosexuals were loved more, it was just that heterosexuals needed more supervision.
Oh and comedian Chris Hardwick of The Talking Dead said that the laws in Leviticus regarding homosexuality, eating any seafood without scales and haircuts meant that being gay, eating a Long John Silver's Captain's Platter and mullets were all the same.

Totally agree, thank you Paolo, Gareth19 and hopeful1.
Actually I attend a gay church and its quite interesting looking at the biblical teaching from a different point of view. I think my minister has it nailed.
Aloha

Well, just to add to the discussion...
Personally, I think the bit about "round not the corners of your heads" referred to cradle head-boarding, in which an infant's skull is bound to cause it to grow into a 'conehead' shape, or elongated skull.
It's not about haircuts.

My first instinct it to just close it, just so you know where I stand on this. Other moderators may feel the same way and beat me to the close this thread box.

[CENTER]Fear NOT Ancient Wisdom It is not ancient wisdom. It is pure thread necromancy.
Also, I'd question any wisdom from text that was translated at least 4 times (or 5 in case of Orthodox bible) with translators not knowing original context or cultural nuances. (And I would not even mention political editing).

Yep, they are absolutely the same types of sins in the same class. And I agree with Paolo that historical visions are often enlightening. An archive is, after all, intended to preserve history for our benefit.
Re: Biblical Clarifications...
What I like are the books they didn't want in the Bible, like Enoch and all the Apocrypha. Note: some of these books get cited by Jesus and the 12 in the New Testament.
Hmmm, they read them, but we can't? Why is that, I wonder? Good stuff?

Well,
We could reconsider Plato's philosophy casting (if you will excuse the expression...
Not ANY worse than what some American (so-called) Ministers are doing in the name of Jeeezzuuzz every day. Seriously, God will get them for that but some will not have to wait that long.
...Hef doesn't really "own" them but the effect is still the same. Of course the Ministers make better evil because they lie about it. With Hef it's eyes wide open... BIG eyes...
But seriously, folks.
A ten year old thread quoting my posts? Maybe I should publish some of this stuff... or maybe YOU guys should.
Shall we continue? An old thread is still a good thread and truth is timeless...
