Atlanta is my hometown, Portland is my adopted hometown, and Manhattan is my fantasy. However, New Orleans is my responsibility. I made these photographs from love.

Images of a warship tied up next to the Riverwalk stun me. Other Navy vessels have tied up there. However, the president does not usually spend the night there. In the morning, I have to go to a friend who fled the storm--maybe just help him run errands and talk about what happened to him.

I spent the weekend recovering my PC functions, at least well enough to do some raw screens. I wanted to post images of the city from happier times.

What a wonderful set of photos of New Orleans as she was. Her loss is a great blow to the common heritage of humanity.

You're also a fine photographer. I especially appreciated the kids and the streetcars, but there were many wonderful shots in the group.

Thank you.

Thank you for looking. The selection is random. The scans are not a the resolution that I want. However, the desire to share images of a great city drive me. Again, thank you for looking.

Like jesus said, (same thing I was thinking) these photos are wonderful. I know I am not alone to say we have lost something special. Will it come back with the flare it had, only time will tell.

As I looked through all the pics, i felt this overwhelming amount of sadness. So many people in the pics, how many of them are still alive? Their memory is immortalized by your album. Thank you for sharing this with us!!!

Softee--

You're good at catching a mood in your photographs. Some of them reminded me of the paintings of Manet.

Now that you're retired, maybe you can pick up your camera, and start your real career. (Tongue in cheek.)
