At the risk of being rude, I'll just be blunt:
If you dont' have the money to eat or fill prescriptions, then you don't have the money to pay the ER bills (which IS where you will end up if you do this) nor the bills for the treatment in the psychiatric ward, where you will spend some days IF you do this and survive it via the ER.

Re: Anyone Ever Auto-Castrate?
Transgirl,
Is the issue is that you have a script but don't have the money? Spironolactone is a pretty cheap drug. So are most estrogen drugs. It shouldn't cost more than $30 a script. You have two weeks to make an extra $60. It just seems like you could get creative and make this much money doing just about anything. Walk dogs, wash cars, house cleaning... I mean, you must have some things you find preferable to:
1. losing your chances for TG,
1.5 going through unbelievable pain (personal experience: had them torn - accident)
2. going through psychiatric therapy and
3. possibly being put on anti-psychotic drugs that will
4. confuse you while your estrogen level goes to zero.
5. They won't care about the depression or the loss of your feminity from lack of estrogen.
6. You will likely be watched closely after this for years so your freedom to do what you want with your body will be gone.
If it were me I'd get VERY creative.
I have been in this group for just a little more than a year now, but many have been much longer. The challenge that you are having we see from time to time. The people who go through with what you are planning only sometimes die, but they always regret it deeply. Read Scottie's recent post for example, he has never beeen the same.
You've got a lot of non-prudish people who have seen a lot and they are all advising you to find another alternative. They have the collective voice of experience.
Please think it through, (it is because we care that we are taking the time)

Talk to your Doctor and the Pharmacy that supplies your hormones and testosterone blockers. They maybe able to help supply you with "Samples" if you expplain what your situation is I think they will help!
Don't cut yourself. You may very well pass out and bleed to death. And what good will that be?

My situation has changed (not to say I was bullshitting, because I had all the tools bought, I just needed a way to numb things down there). Now I hve a good job, and will be getting on Spiro again soon.
Thank you for your concern though!

Re: Anyone Ever Auto-Castrate?
Now I ha
Jessica,
Yippee! Glad for you. Now that you have a good job, be sure to save up for a trip to Philly.
FWIW: I was going to auto-castrate myself with something out of my toolbox. I chickened out after starting to apply pressure. Orgasms were never the same after that -- somewhat painful. As it turns out (confirmed during surgery with Dr. Kimmel), if I had not chickened out, all I would have accomplished was a vasectomy.
