I hadn't realized how much my contributions to the EA had dribbled down until I got this nice card from Minneapolis, signed by several EA members, with a couple wondering where I have been.

Alas, that excuse about "The Eunuch Calm" is starting to wear a little thin. What we have here is plain old Acedia (look it up in the dictionary).

I have settled down to a comfortable rut, and seem to lack motivation to change it. Wake up about 10 AM, relax around the house, spoil the cats rotten, maybe go to a noontime AA meeting.

Off to work at 2 PM. Back home after midnight. Unwind with the cats, some ritual, and more cats. In bed at 2 AM.

I work Monday through Saturday. My days off are supposed to be Sunday and Monday, but I work most Mondays at 8 hours overtime at time-and-a-half.

This leaves Sunday as my spiritual day, devoted to various Pagan activities. Plus an AA meeting Sunday night at the local Alano Club.

I am not bored, far from it. I enjoy this laid back style of living, this calm serenity my castration has given me.

I've dropped two internet newsgroups (alt.support.menopause and alt.bankruptcy), leaving me in four (alt.callahans rec.arts.sf.fandom soc.religion.paganism and alt.religion.wicca.moderated).

But, yes, I really need to get out of bed or whatever and become a wee bit more active in EA. I need someone like TAL to live with me and kick me every now and then.

But rest assured that all is going well. Thank you.

But, yes, I need to become a little more active in EA.

I wonder if advancing age degrades an individual's ability to formulate bad puns. Also, Andrew, I may have missed this--are you all done with bankruptcy court?

Not quite. I have made all the payments required by my Chapter 13 plan. Now I just have to wait for the Trustee to do the final paperwork. This might happen in a few days, sevevral weeks, or maybe even next year.

In any case, the money I formerly sent to the Trustee now is sent to my Mother to help pay for her Alzheimer's expenses.📖 ⛵

This is a story about the famous Chinese general Fu Man Chu who went to invade Siberia during the winter. One of the defending Siberian generals had spies who would run up into the mountains, spy on the Chinese, and return with messages about the state of the invaders. During one night, there was a terrible snow and ice storm, and the renowned Chu was said to have died from the cold.

The messenger returned to the Siberian general's camp and gave the following report, "Many are cold, but Chu is frozen."😭

Your not lazy my friend, you have gone past that. I know that you have been posting quite often in the joke section, I guess the others dont read that one. I am glad to hear that your doing well, so am I. I know that its been a hard road when work seems to make you wonder why then to return home to find you have little furry bodys rubbing your leg life is worth while.

Hi Andrew,

I'm three days away from my Eunuch birthday and I have found that I too enjoy my enunch calm.

First I thought I must be depressed, however now I am certain it's the calm. I have very few interest these days or even feel the need to get motivated.

Like you I have found my self as of late, in a comfortable rut taking care of only those things that demand my attention. If it's not on my short list of things to do...it can wait.

This is a stark contrast to the way I was before surgery. Back then I was a totally driven man...driven by testosterone, I tended to "work" out my sexual frustration.

I frequently thank the Powers that Be for delivering me from all that madness. I finally feel like I can rest.

Be well my friend and strive to be happy.

Sag, you have my sympathy I wish you the very best. Take care my friend until we meet again.
