For those of us who are seeking means of castration, surgical via a doctor or DIY, the above web site is very informative. It also indicates that the Elastrator method can be very productive and safe if performed correctly and depending on the individual can have it done in a matter of several hours.. The article also suggests that you can cut the dead area of issue here after the area has become dead and numb with no bleeding or PAIN. Of course, the procedure can only be successful if proper sterilization is accomplished.

I have done some research on this subject before so, this isn't the only article suggesting the above.

Actually the information on elastrator being a good method is pretty much wrong. People can, of course, acheive castration that way but it is a painful process, usually involves infection/necrotising/gangrene, and will probably have to be fixed up by a doctor.

BME also has pictures showing elastrator castration and it is a big gaping wound.

Also, many of us on the forum have played with elastrators and it is very difficult to voluntarily keep it on for over an hour or so. It is not just a matter of local pain (that might be mitigated by anesthetic), but more of an abdominal aching due to the blood supply being blocked.

Lastly, your chance of acheiving castration with that method only really gets good after 12 hours. You can find out medical evidence about this if you look up information on the salvagability of testicles with testicular torsion (condition where the testicular blood supply is cut off).

If it was easy/safe/painless we all would have done it by now!

The picture you are referring to on BME of the big gaping wound is from a lost band. As it states, it is important not to remove or lose the band until the would has started to heal. Also, The testicular torsion you refer to is from the spermatic cord being twisted and usually effects one side but, there are occasions where it can be bi-lateral. BME suggests that there is considerable pain depending on the individual for up to the first 12 hours and I grant you, from personal experience there is some significant abdominal pain but, It is only an alternative. I am hearing too many people complaining about physicians botching the orchiotomy too so, I guess you have to make the decision on your own which way you want to go. With all considered, what really is the safeist way to go. I do however, agree that having a certified doctor that know's what he is doing is still the best way to go but, some people do not have that option for one reason or the other.

It is indeed unfortunate that it is so difficult to castrate oneself while competent surgeons won't perform voluntary castrations.

The safest, most painless method is chemical/hormonal castration. But of course many of us want the testicles physically gone so seek a more permanent solution.

SD makes a valid point here... Desperate people seek desperate means for resolve. It is, in some cases... in a lot of cases, that Dr's will not honor the requests of adults and forcing them to seek these desperate means. A good example is abortions..... I don't know the answer to this particular issue and I certainly can't suggest a definitive resolve as each individual is different with different priorities. But again, I can't stress the disadvantage people are put in when they want something so bad as to seek less than perfect avenues to pursue their priority. But then again, how many so called competent Doctors have botched what should typically be a simple surgical procedure..? Who the hell can you trust anymore...?
