they took my money and cancelled my surgery
and then didn't refund me
Have you talked with them since then to ask why? In your earlier posts, you said it was because of interference from your parents. Is there any chance that it was because you weren't legally old enough for the surgery without your parent's consent? (Under either Spanish or Mexican law?)
Any chance they might have refunded the money to your parents?
One of the things that is common here in the US is that a doctors office will still charge you if you miss an appointment without cancelling a day or two ahead of time, I assume that it is common in other places as well... Their argument is that they set aside a block of time for your appointment, and if you don't show up and they didn't have time to get someone else into that slot, someone needs to pay for the doctor's time...
For something like a surgery, it's a lot more because you have all the support people, and the operating room, etc. as well as the doc...
As one possibility, have you talked with them and asked if they would give you at least partial credit towards surgery in the future?
I don't know just what is going on, and I suspect there may be more to it on either side, but I'd be really surprised if it was something malicious or fraudulent on the part of Dr. A's office, given the glowing reports others have made about the care they've gotten from him.
