When the Bouncing Betty mine was designed I am sure it was intended to "take out" as many of the enemy as possible by exploding 3 feet from the ground. The fact that a mans cock & balls are approximately that height has contributed to the fact that many had their "jewels" blown off by the bouncing betty. Many times the injuries included areas such as the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks along with their genitals. As far as being fit for battle, you are right. The devastating realization that he had no penis or testicles would make him impotent in fighting the enemy as well. :dong:

The idea behind the "bouncing betty" is that even if just one guy is injured it takes three out of the battle because it will take two to carry the injured or dieing solder off the field of battle. multiply that times oh a coupple hundred for a given field of battle I'd say its effective. Mind you I don't wish any injuries on anyone ever. I'm just stating the facts......In my opinion all land mines should be gone as they are a cowardly way to wage war.

Anything goes in war. War is help on earth, land mines are area denial wapons. Granted land mines will go on killing after the war is over but that is the point of keeping records and removing the mines after the war. France is still removing mines and shells from WW1. But let's not lose the point of war, to win.

I read an article written by a counseler of returning vets with serious life altering injuries. By far the most emotionally devestating injury involves the genitals. What can you say to comfort a man who is barely 20 years old knowing he can not enjoy the pleasure of sex for the rest of his life? It was noted in many cases, the genitals were either blown off or had to be removed due to the amount of trauma and damage. We owe these brave men our gratitude.

There are a lot of vets from this last conflict that have lost their testicles!

Dualballs and Stevesd,

Thanks for speaking up. It's one thing to undergo such procedures voluntarily, another to have it thrust upon a man who has every intention of keeping them for life. I can't imagine the CONTINUAL anguish these men have to go thru with every trip to the bathroom. Depression is probably a big problem. 😢

Reminded of having no penis balls or both would be torture in itself. Especially with all the sex we see every day. Sex in the movies, on TV and sex on the internet. There is no where to go to avoid being reminded of such an injury.

I have heard that when one looses an arm, leg etc. that muscle memory causes one to think he still has that body part and wants to use it. I wonder if this is also the case with missing genitals. :dong:
