I was roughly a year younger that the rest of my classmates in grade school so when I noticed other guys with pubic hair I was a little jealous as mine hadn't started coming in yet. Once it did I quickly realized that I disliked it and started shaving it every opportunity I had. That desire never changed and when I was in my mid thirties I finally got up the nerve to remove it permanently. I had also seen girls with their smooth pubes and at puberty, even though I liked jerking off, I wished I was smooth like a girl. That was another desire I had when 12- 13 years old that never went away or changed. So, I can't say about castration, but I can certainly say that at that young age I was absolutely old enough to know what I wanted.

I wish I never experienced puberty. I, on the other hand, started having public hair earlier than most of my classmates.

I never liked my pubic hairs, and in my late 20s, I had them removed permanently.

Now, I am 34, and still have minor acne problems.

I lost mine when I was 13, never took hormones. I done a stupid thing and got lucky. No child should experence torment of puberty if they do not want it, but as its not so easy to happen people will keep doing stupid things.

I have a friend, Thomas, who back when he was around 10 or 11, confided in me that he wanted to be castrated (which only help to feed my own budding interest in the subject) in order to not get all that body hair (I remember his dad was quite a bear). We talked about ways of doing it, but never really acted upon it mostly because we could not figure out a way for his parents to not find out. I mean, even if we were successful, at his next doctor's physical, the true would come out.

My cousin was sterilized as a teenager many decades ago. It took jumping through legal hoops and becoming and "Emancipated Minor" through court hearings of some sort. Just a vasectomy but he knew what he wanted and bugged his physician at every visit from the time he learned what a vasectomy was.

Today, There are young transgender kids that somehow get counseling, hormones and the help they request. I've met some of them, doing volunteer work for the "Queer Prom" at the LGBT center.

I don't know how they are doing it, but I know that there is a lot of support given to them.

I just hope that future kids that want and need it get the support that they deserve.

How young it too young? If they can express it, understand it, and desire it to the extent to convince the court system. I for one will not stand in their way.

I'd have put my body at his disposition to have myself rounded off...

It's an interesting question. Here is my take on it. The desire for sex is so strong in most men that they tend to see all (or almost all) other males as potential rivals. Men even feel that way about boys of 9 or 10, for although the boys are not yet fully capable they will be in just a few years and by the time they are 16 or 17 they will be at the peak of their sexual performance and the old guys will be cast aside.

Castration would render a boy powerless to make love and yet he would still be a useful member of society. For many men that might seem like a good thing. Less competition for them. It's quite possible that a doctor who (if it was acceptable) performed castrations on young boys might get a thrill from doing so. He might even suggest or encourage castration for boys in cases in which there would be little or no benefit. That's a possibility that I'm sure makes people very uncomfortable.
