Georgia House bans female genital piercing
This news is a year old, but I don't remember it. Anyone know of whether the law passed? Sounds outrageous!

Georgia House Bans Female Genital Piercing
ATLANTA - Genital piercings for women were banned by the Georgia House Wednesday as lawmakers considered a bill outlining punishments for female genital mutilation.
The bill would make such mutilation punishable by two to 20 years in prison. It makes no exception for people who give consent to have the procedure performed on their daughters out of religious or cultural custom.
An amendment adopted without objection added piercing to the list of things that may not be done to female genitals. Even adult women would not be allowed to get the procedure. The bill eventually passed 160-0, with no debate.
Amendment sponsor Rep. Bill Heath, R-Bremen, was slack-jawed when told after the vote that some adults seek the piercings.
What? I've never seen such a thing, Heath said. I, uh, I wouldn't approve of anyone doing it. I don't think that's an appropriate thing to be doing.
The ban applies only to women, not men. The bill has already been approved by the Senate but now must return to that chamber because of the piercing amendment. Both chambers of the Legislature must agree on a single version of a bill before it can go to the governor for final approval.

Re: Georgia House bans female genital piercing
Thanks for posting this, I hadn't heard either. Unfortunately, I'm having difficulty determining whether this passed or not and which is the final version. Anyone who has skill at reading legal documents or who wants to try, here is the Georgia Legislature's page for this bill:
http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2003 ... /sb418.htm
I think it passed without piercing included, because I assume the link at the top of the page is the final version.

Re: Georgia House bans female genital piercing
One has to consider the source for such crap. I lived in GA for about 8 years and found that no-one on their capital hill knew the difference between sodomy, cunilingus, and fellatio. They call all three sodomy and orally pleasing your woman can put you in prison there with good ole boys guarding the doors. :nutsycuck One day their legislators will get their heads out of their assholes and open a dictionary. Changes subjects frequently, but it sure enhances intelligence.

Re: Georgia House bans female genital piercing
Teaching ESL, I learned to double check the dictionary before discussing definitions; my students often seemed to expect me to be able to quote the dictionary for every word. I just looked up sodomy in the dictionary and here is Merriam-Webster's definition:
1 : copulation with a member of the same sex or with an animal
2 : noncoital and especially anal or oral copulation with a member of the opposite sex
So, according to the dictionary, cunnilingus, fellatio, anal sex, bestiality, and gay sex are all examples of sodomy. I think the word should purged from the English language. I cannot abide by anything that declares those acts to be the same. I guess if you just banned sodomy, rape, necrophilia, and pedophilia (with the opposite sex) would be acceptable while oral sex would put you behind bars.
My simplified definition:
any sexual act that does not include putting a penis into a vagina
1 : copulation with a member of the same sex or with an animal
2 : noncoital and especially anal or oral copulation with a member of the opposite sex
So, according to the dictionary, cunnilingus, fellatio, anal sex, bestiality, and gay sex are all examples of sodomy. I think the word should purged from the English language. The origin of the word comes from the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah in the bible which were a by word for sexual depravity. However, the word originally meant anal copulation with a man or a woman or any act of copulation with an animal. There was no connection with oral sex, either because it was they had no conception of it or possibly because it was so widespread that no one thought that it was depraved at all.

HELL YES!...
I mean, what would happen if this ole northern boy went down there and started eating those Georgia Peaches...
Hell, they'd leave daddy in a New York minute.
Colin, you need to read the Song of Solomon again and keep in mind that some dears are of the two-legged variety and that in the original Hebrew the navel was somewhat further south of the hairline...
Now, if a gynocologist is delivering a baby in Atlanta and has to perform an episiotomy or perhaps suture a vulva torn in childbirth is he or she not piercing the female genitalia with a needle?
These bastards are really nuts, just the same as they were in the 1950's, and they will NEVER change. If you don't believe me just try to navigate I-275 around Atlanta during rush hour...

They've actually left themselves an out with that one, by adding a clause (Section 2, 3c), which lets medical professionals (and some others) perform some acts, provided they are for medical reasons and either during labour or connected to labour.
(c) This Code section shall not apply to procedures performed by or under the direction of a physician, a registered professional nurse, a certified nurse midwife, or a licensed practical nurse licensed pursuant to Chapter 34 or 26, respectively, of Title 43 when necessary to preserve the physical health of the female or during or after labor or childbirth for medical reasons connected with the labor or childbirth.

Re: Georgia House bans female genital piercing
OH,
So, if I am an R.N., L.P.N. or Doctor and I have to pierce the genitalia of a female and install a chastity ring to insure her fidelity, i.e. her mental health because she masturbates a lot, or simply because she needs to be stopped from re-producing this would be legal, I suppose.
I refer you to my original point...
