I think Robby's response to the question was entirely suitable, and I salute him for the time and effort that went into such an expansive reply.
There is little doubt that women have traditionally been discriminated in the business and occupational spheres of the modern world. That being said, the increasingly apparent and institutionalized over-response of the last 30-40 years went way over. Many men were horribly injured by the over-response. Although I did overcome it in both the short and long-term, I was personally a victim occupationally of a woman who was intent on hurting men. I believe I was discriminated against on several other occasions. And I also overcame the wrath of my rejected ex-wife and became one of the first gay men to gain custody of his children in an Ontario court hearing almost 2 decades ago. I can't claim too great a victory from this latter matter, as the judge, whom was familiar with my sexuality, had ordered in the first day of the hearing that my sexuality had not affected my ability to parent and would not figure in any decision. Only 4 years earlier, the Bill of Rights and Freedoms that gave gay men equal rights and eventually provided the basis for same-sex marriage in Canada had been proclaimed. Sodomy had been removed from the Criminal Code of Canada only 15 years previously.
All of this having been acknowledged, my experience is that rampant discrimination against men is far less an everyday occurrence than a decade or two ago, at least in British Columbia, Canada. Discrmination against gays and against ethnic minorities has overcome the focus on the evil of things male. Butch is even in now.
Of course and while there are transsexual women that want to rid it from their bodies and it facilitates the 'male' personality, it goes without saying that testosterone is not a poison.
What is Testosteron Poisoning and . . .

Re: What is Testosteron Poisoning and . . .
Since posting and wondering if the extreme gender wars begun in the 1960s haven't come to an end in the US, I read a column by Margaret Wente in the Globe and Mail re the trials and tribulations of Pres Summers of Harvard University re statements he made some weeks ago on gender discrimination in hiring practices at Harvard (can't post because it's available electronically only by paid subscription). I thought any issue wasn't going to last. How wrong I was. The Faculty have voted 218:185 to censure him. Fortunately, only the Harvard Corporation, the Board of Overseers usually representing corporate America, can fire him.
The vote shows how divided the Faculty was. That's the kind of division that's expected in a few weeks when the Canadian Parliament votes on legitimating same-sex marriage. Hopefully the pundits are correct in their prediction that those in favour will win by about a margin of 55:45. In any event, I'll stand by my conclusion that - in this country at least - social focus has shifted to sexuality and ethnicity over the last few years. We've had a female PM and currently have both a female jurist as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada and as Governor General (the 2nd female GG). BC province has also had a female premier. Gender is not as divisive as it once was.

The term "testosterone poisoning" or "testosterone dementia" is sometimes used in professional circles describing the malices of a testosterone-induced behavior. This could include the following:
* Men are more likely to smoke and consume alcohol
* Men are more likely to do drugs
* Men are more likely to take dangerous risks
* Men are more aggressive and impulsive
* Men are more likely to end up in a car accident and road rage
* Men stand for more than 90% of all rapes
* 90% of pedophiles are men
* Most thieves are men
* Most dangerous criminals are men
In some cases, high levels of this hormone are believed to fuel excessive malignant behavior often seen in youths and young adults, leading to excess violance, vandalism, sexual assaults and self-harm. For instance, numerous studies have confirmed the link between dangerous criminals, recidivism and high levels of testosterone 1 (http://www.psychosomaticmedicine.org/cg ... t/49/2/174) 2 (http://www.lawlink.nsw.gov.au/cpd.nsf/p ... p_5annbibA)
Castration appeared to reduce some, if not all types of this behavior in animals (aggresion, dominance, roaming) and sometimes, where data is available, on humans - largely inmates and criminal offenders in prison and mental institutions. All this eventually led to the idea of "testosterone intoxication", ie. that in some men testosterone promotes unwanted behavior and it's reduction solve these problems.
Also in medical terms, it's possible to get an overdose of a testosterone patch. The consequences of an overdose are not well-known, but some were reported:

Overdosage
Testosterone overdose is very rare, but has been implicated in one case of stroke. Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

Re: What is Testosteron Poisoning and . . .
Dear all writers and ponderers and or collectors of knowledge.
It will take me a while to review and understand all ot this . Thanks.
But my current question is also one that I have pondered just recently ;
When an INFECTION is observed in or at the Prostate ((with E Coli observed there for a while and antibiotic was used twice)) How does infection happen. Well does T get there and can it cause the Prostate Irritation.
((GAS Bubbles comes out via the Urin and was coinsident with the gas wenting frot he intestine. Long story but just a hint.)) So my current question is - does T come into play in or at the Prostate and can it CAUSE irritation there ?? Just curious on this one point. Regards [email protected]

I don't think T cause prostate infections as per se, but it can aid to the existing one. For instance, neautered dogs have almost no incidences of prostate and urinary tract infections. When prostate hypertrophies in older age it get much more susceptible to infections in intact dogs:
http://www.ida.net/org/bhs/spay.html
Prostatic enlargement predisposes a dog to prostate and urinary-tract infections, which can make urinating difficult and painful. If an infection leads to an abscess, the abscess must be surgically drained. Common consequences of the surgery include system wide infection and shock or sometimes death. Because prostatic enlargement is caused by the male hormone testosterone, and testosterone is produced by the testicles. Neutering acts as both a preventative measure and a cure.
Because neutering, even in older age, leads to a reduction of prostate it also reduces the risk of infections.
Hope this helps!

Re: What is Testosteron Poisoning and . . .
Since a Testosterone patch provides only 2.5 to 5mg of T and Olympian level bodybuilders take 15,000mg per week for 10 or more years without any "poisoning", I wonder if we have the right take away on testosterone. You just don't hear about these guys having prostate problems. In fact, you don't hear of any old bodybuilders in their 70's or beyond having prostate problems. The "roid" rage I've seen is the result of stimulants that are often taken with steroids to increase fat loss.
If we want to even things up with the girls, lets let them have a little testosterone. Women naturally have a level of 20 or so, lets lift it to 70 (this level won't ever masculinize them). Women in the wild of Africa have about 110. I know from personal experience it makes women more competent, more logical, improves memory, reduces depression and anxiety, improves their comfort with confrontation, they enjoy sex more, they like to exercise, they get healthier and lose fat fast, they recover faster and best of all they get promoted and earn more money because they become "agressive go-getters" and "hard-chargers" in the workplace. Oh yeah, and they are less dependant and submissive to stupid men.
BTW: I've been on T for 30 years and my prostate PSA is 0.3, the same as when I was a kid. Maybe we are missing something in the prostate-testosterone equation, like exercise and frequency of ejaculation.
