Its been about 2 and 1/2 years sense I was castrated. I have not had any thoughts about sex, havent had an erectionm, nothing - nothing until this morning, I woke up early as it was still dark and had one hell of an erection. I am not sure what to think about it, I did notice my penis was about an inch or so shorter then before but I dont care.

So any other eunuchs not on HRT have anything like this?

I am chemicaly castrated for over 2 years. Hope to have that corrected soon. I experience what you have. The only time I get erections is when I am over stimulated by outside sorces. Other wise it is dead to the world. This is very nice. As far as to length goes I know it is smaller but do not know how much. Never had a full erection is such a long time.

Oh yes, when the adrenal glands have put out a small amount of testosterone over a period of time.

YET...when I was on estrogen to stop the hot flashing, I was also able to masturbate every third day if I wanted to. Took some time, the penis is about 2 inches shorter then it used to be, and no ejaculate resulted. Still, a mild enough orgasm.

Since coming off the HRT, I have gone back to being sexless. No masturbation.

I don't know what my number is, but I know I'm not producing much with these balls of mine.

I don't often wake up erections, like you mentioned, and it sort of alarms me when I do.

Had to have this discussion with one of the boys the other day, they're at that stage of life...and I sort of had to lie that, yes, men wake up with erections and have them at night for a reason.

I neglected to tell him why or what to do if you don't...

Neither testosterone nor sexual feelings seem to be required for an erection. I have a wonderful ultrasound of my grandson-to-be showing a prominent erection. I've changed his diapers often enough to know that infants have them fairly frequently.

In other words, you simply seem to be normal.

Hey Riverwind,

I was castrated one and a half years ago and had a fairly high T level (50). For about the first three months I still had sexual thoughts & had enough of an "itch" that I masturbated abt twice a week. I felt really cheated to have gone through with castration only to find my libido slightly lower than it was before.

I went to my regular doc and she put me on 100 mg of Spironolactone daily in divided doses. This cut my T to 20 ng/dl. Ahhhh... at last that ugly itch went away. (How nice it is to have a physician who doesn't think I'm some sort of maniac!)

However, I still get what you might call 3/4-erections quite spontaneously, both at night and during the day. They have abolutely NOTHING to do with sexual thoughts or stimuli and they often HURT like hell! This is most embarassing as I have no control over the how, when or why of a semi-woodie showing in my pants. ARGH! I can also still masturbate, but I've got to work pretty hard to get there and it doesn't really even occur to me to try but about once every two months. I think I do it just to see if it will still work.

As Jesus said, I think this is fairly normal. I'm 52, and I'd expect that as I age and continue to keep my suprarenal T low with an anti-androgen, all this stuff (as well as what's left of my genitalia) will disappear very nicely as it has for some of my other eunuch friends.

I tried not taking hormones. That was hell night sweats hot flashes etc. etc. The left side and end of my penis that was amputated contained most of the large blood vessels needed to supply the sponge to get an erection so I never really experianced a full hardon even with hormones and stimulation.
