"A typical pre-op dose would be 5--7.5mg daily in divided doses, reducing to 1--2.5mg daily post-op."
These numbers are just a guide. I'm over a year post-orchie and still taking 8mg estradiol a day (of course I'm looking to gain the secondary female characteristics).

Also too, I was thinking of supplementing Depo-Provera with an Estraderm patch.
The Estraderm patch is just a different means of delivering estrogen (not to mention it's higher cost). It bypasses the liver on the first pass by being absorbed directly into the blood stream. All oral medications are first proccessed by the liver before entering the bloodstream, then it is proccessed again before it is removed as waste. Hence injectable and patches bypass this first proccess making it less stressful on the liver.
Bottom line is the more estrogen you take, the better your chances of developing secondary female characteristics.
If you are looking to just lower your libido, stick with the Depo-Provera only. If you experience hot flashes, then add a small dose of estrogen to combat them.
