But please, don’t forget the hard work, to exchange the hardware, and to fill up the new server with life. Starting from the moment when the old system broke down, with all the stress to find out what happened, and all the activities to buy a new server, our operators and our moderators should be granted more honor! We can sit down and relax, they are shouldering the complete project!

To a large degree, it isn't the amount, it's the thought. The crew of the Mother Ship puts in a lot of time (and a fair amount of their own cash) to keep the Archive afloat.

Anyone concerned about its continuing health ought to consider sending a small contribution every once in a while - whether a playpal donation or a small amount of cash in an envelope. Even a couple of dollars, if enough of us did it, would help a great deal.

Tom Stratton has allowed his address to be used as a mail drop for the Archive. He is NOT Talula. I know both Tom and Talula, and I can assure you that they are very separate and different people, though they are friends.

I just wanted to point out, that the donation alone will not set up the new server!

And it’s not as easy as building up a normal PC.

sorry cutme,I do get bent out of shape some times.your right I get very sensitive over the smallest things.This archive means alot to me.You see it's acting as a therapist for me.I log on probley 4 to 5 times a day to see what my new friends are posting now.It keeps me going!!I need my daily fix like an addict.Sorry I jumped you like that.I have never been able to get on the chat.Don't know if I am doing something wrong or not.The page won't show up..your friend[twin]

You need a irc client twin such as bersirc (which is free) and point it to "darkstar1.tzo.com" That will get you on and you can ask any of the chat ops more of the details about using a irc.
