VBulletin's WYSIWYG editor doesn't quite work right.

I've complained about it a few times, and figured this new version would fix it. It didn't.

Having read this strand, I am now so discouraged that I doubt I'll ever post a story here, ever. What a shame. I had a massive novel, and ten stories lined up. Guess I'll go Japanese. They're much more welcoming, and they don't fuss about other people's stuff.

Bye,

Nicky

Once again, it's time to remind potential Authors at EA what will and what will NOT be accepted. There are other threads on this issue, but it's time for a new one, seeing as how my trashcan runneth over on a regular basis.

1. Things that belong on the Boards here. It's not a story when you post, "Hi, I'm so-and-so looking for such-and-such.":-|

2. Grammatical nightmares - I can only say this for English and German stories. If you think you have a grammar problem, get help. This also ties in with spell-checking. It's not foolproof, so use a real person. 🙏 Don't be afraid to ask for help.🔨 Things like, "They is" or "I knowed" or chronic word confusion will kill a story really fast. Example - "they're, their, there." and "two, too, to."

3. Japanese / other Asian languages - consult Jesus. He's the pro at that.👉

4. Quotation marks! This has been a really big one lately. You can't scatter conversation throughout a story and expect someone to enjoy reading it. We're taught from Kindergarten to expect to see quotation marks. That, and when the speaker changes, it at least goes on a new line.

5. Stories that make no sense. Get the facts straight before you write it. Example - there's no way to pump 8-10 quarts of fluid into someone's bowels without killing him, or him blowing it out first. Trust me, I know...

Also, the following terms are useful, too:

Castrate - in a story, generally applies to testicles and/or sac with them.

Penectomy - penis only removed. (Bboy's personal fav.)👉

Nullification - the whole enchilada lopped off.🤫

Circumcision - removal of the foreskin in males.

Glansectomy - removal the glans penis, or the head, leaving the shaft.

6. Tags! A bit of clarification.

F = female. Not if there is a female IN the story. Only use "F" if the female is being de-clitted, fem-circ'd, whatever. Not if SHE is doing the deeds mentioned above TO a male.

TG = transgendering. This is where the male usually ends up female by the end of the tale. Nullification and being used by men is not TG'ing.

Please use the MINOR tag if you write about some victim/hero in the story under the magical age of 18. That's the usual standard.

I often edit tags, but sometimes I miss one. I also get irritated. Easily.:(

Thank you.

PS - Don't wait for a month before you write in asking where your story went. If you don't see it in 2 days tops, then it didn't make it. And no, I don't have time to email everyone when a story gets canned.🤾

Try posting one at Nifty and jump through all of THEIR hoops.

I don't believe that these guidelines, which are here for the benefit of the readers, are too much to ask.

And to anyone else with this type of reaction, well, you can have my job anytime. Come and get it.

Ja, und "Buch-Deutsch", gelernt an Universitaet, ist auch nicht genug. Oft muss ich mein Woerterbuch gebrauchen.

(Und Universitaet war vor 19 Jahren!)
