Java VM, HELP please!

Can anyone help me please? I'm using XP which keeps informing me that I need java virtual machine to use chat sites like this one.

Microsoft seem to have washed their hands of it all and whenever I try to download from Sun I just get this message on installation telling me it is unable to install (no reason)



Can anyone help me?

Here is one of many solutions:

Install the lastest version of Netscape.

When asked to install or update Jave, go for it.

This may prove to help your cause...

I am currently running the following version of Java:

Version 1.4.2_04 (build 1.4.2_04-b05)

go to www.java.com (http://www.java.com) and click on the box on the upper right that says get it now.

That should work for you.

Click HERE (http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp) and answer YES when the pop up box appears.

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou for your help, Bboy your link worked perfectly and while the download took so long (over very narrow bandwidth) I thought it was going to give up on me, Java VM is now installed and working....

Just goes to show that while one should try and do things for oneself, sometimes asking he right people is all you need to do.

Now if everything else in life could be sorted that simply....
