Research For Tv Programme

Post by TRJ (imported) »

Hi,

I must first apologise in the instance that I upset anyone, I'm afraid I needed to register simply to post up information about research I am currently carrying out. I am hoping for some help with it.

I work for a television production company in Ireland and we are currently researching a programme about castration. We are interested in hearing from people who may be considering castration, have been through castration, people who have been castrated and are dissatisfied since the procedure, people who are interested in castration or have been castrated for sexual or transgender purposes, so basically anyone anyway linked with castration at all.

The programme will be for international consumption, obviously discretion will be used to the utmost of our ability, although ultimately the programme will be aired on television.

We would greatly appreciate any genuine replies for this notice, as it is a very interesting topic and although hard to find information about may need to be better understood publicly,

Thank you in advance for any interest and reply,

Tracey Johnston

:) What another one?

OK Let's give these the benefit of the doubt, after all I think this will be the third and as the Irish Nation is closer to home, by all means E Mail [email protected]. But be warned I do insist on reality!

Cheers

Maybe the people so interested in documenting this should experience it from a personal standpoint. Maybe they should experience it from a first accounting level, go through it and document it to get their own perspectives. Just a thought.

There has been only one group that addressed the archive that gave a damn about what we said, and plenty of others that claimed to care. Few care to film after disturbing us.

Right now is a bad time.

You can contact me at [email protected]. I am the official media director.

And I object to any form of TV viewing for eunuchs. I did an interview with Bullseye TV in the UK for there show the World of Pain. All I asked was to let me know when it would be aired in the UK and in the USA. I was told not a problem, they said they would send me a copy of that show.

Well

The show has aired in the UK,

I have written them,

NO ANSWER, they got what they wanted, on to new business.

I have never herd from them sense.

What a class less act.

It will be a cold day in H____ when I interview again for a show on TV.

River 😠 😠 😠

There was a recent “documentary” titled “American Eunuchs” that has now been shown at a number of film festivals as well as on television in the U.S. (Sundance Channel) and the U.K. (Channel 5). It manages to do everything that a documentary should NOT do. Most importantly it slanders its subjects by very selective editing and using only the most negative footage. The campaign against the sociologist who was complicit in the film is on-going and there has been further exchange of letter since what is posted on the thread that was started by Paolo.

To see this thread (there are other mentions of the film on the Archive go to American Eunuchs (http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthr ... an+Eunuchs). This may explain why it will be VERY difficult to get any cooperation out of the Eunuch Archive community for another film project.

My own research on the community continues, and will, I hope, result in a publication far more sympathetic to the fine people here than has yet been done.

Yes, as Jesus mentioned, after the fiasco that was "American Eunuchs," I doubt that you will get much from EA, Tracey. Please feel welcome to read and learn, but also know that if I or Krister receive any reports of harrassment, then your host IP will banned.

Thank you.

I would like to be able to cooperate with an interested, honest film maker, but the results so far have been so unsatisfactory that my hopes for a good outcome have been damaged in ways that will only heal slowly, if at all. I don't wish anyone who wants to try again any ill will. There are probably others in this large, diverse community who would be willing to speak out. They have more faith than I do in the fairness of such things. I, however remain skeptical. In the current circumstances I would like to ask us all to be very cautious. FLO

All that being said the community could really use a real, honest documentary. The problem, as mentioned above, is that TV producers haven't proven themselves to be very trustworthy.

I think to have much chance of being successful a project like Tracy's needs to have demonstratable credentials. They need a staff academic consultant of the stature of Jesus.

Tracy, my suggestion to you would be to get a university interested in the research aspect of the project and build your documentary around that, using academic standards of research, interviewing, and treatment of research subjects.

Give us something we can work with. I'd be willing to bet of a professor from a known university contacted us with a research outline that you'd have a wealth of material for your documentary, as well as the satisfaction of providing a service to the community you are asking to help you.

A good documentarian can certainly make an exciting and interesting film without making it a tabloid betrayal of the community.

I did an interview for a gay dutch magazine and I didn't have any problems, I actually reeceived a copy (JPG format) of the 3 page article where I and a few others were intervied in. Although I can't make out most of it since I don't undertstand Dutch and I haven't had the time or motivation to type the article in to translate it to english. but I know I got about 1/3 of a page.

For anyone serious about interviews I'm always happy to answer questions, and I do have lots of information posted on my website http://iam.bmezine.com/?luvpain99. In fact the questions from the interview are linked on the page if that helps.
