So far, transportation looks like about $130-$140 by Amtrak (reserved coach all the way)

A few things I'd like to add here. As of this year Kimmels fee for castration is $2,000 and doesn't accept credit cards or personal checks. Money orders and bank checks are ok. Hotel fees for a 2 night stay (if you mention Dr Kimmel for a discount), $200. Kimmel gives you a weeks worth of meds (pain killers and anti-biotics) and a prescription for more, $100. Food and extra goodies, $50. Travel, ???

Kimmels office is only a block from the hotel, but it would not be a good idea to walk right after surgery. Cab fare to and from the hotel and doctors office, $50? I did cut my travel expence by having a good friend drive me. It was less than a 2 hour drive for us. What I saved in cab fare paid for gas there and back.

Oh, and having my best friend be there for me, priceless!
