Phantom Pain

Has any one had a problem with phantom pain after having your testicles removed?

I believe the "phantom pain" you refer to is actually the cords pulling where they have grown to tissues inside. I have felt this for a few months afterwards, but it seems now that it gets less as time goes on. I haven't noticed any pain in a while now an it's been over 5 months since I had surgery. The pain I did feel was not much, more like a dull ache.

I do feel sometimes the same as described above. It happens especially to me when it's hot outside and I'm wearing loose underpants. So the empty scrotum gets pinched between the thighs. And after sometime it produces a dull hurt. As soon as I free the scrotum, the pain disapears quickly.

When probing around, I feel that the pain comes from where the cords disapear in the body

Thanks for the replies and information. I was so hoping that removal of the dead testicles would also remove the pain. I had a visit to my uro today. He thinks the pain is not from an infection and switched me to just a pain medication. He also said there is a 30 to 40% chance of phantom pain after removal. I did not think the percentage would be that high. I am going to give the new stuff a try. If it continues then I will try to get them removed.
