Many on this forum have commented on the euphoria they get once testosterone production stops or is greatly reduced. But, few people go into detail about this feeling of euphoria. Could some of you who have experienced this euphoria give more details about it, including:
1.) which drug did you use to counter testosterone?
2.) at what age did you start using it?
3.) why did you start using it?
4.) how long did it take to induce this euphoric feeling?
5.) what did it do to your sex drive?
6.) what effect did it have on your ability to get an erection?
7.) if you gave up sex, did you and/or your partner miss it?
8.) how long did the euphoria last?
9.) was there a point, maybe years later, that the euphoria stopped?
10.) what are the upsides and downsides to your experience?
11.) and, back to my original question, how would you describe this feeling of euphoria? Exactly what thoughts went through your mind in this euphoric state? Why were you so happy? And, do you have any regrets?
And, of course, anything else you want to add is welcome.

Re: Describe the euphoria you get from chemical castration
Robert,
I will take a crack at answering your questions. I will be interested if others want to comment as well. For brevity, since the full text of your questions appear in your post, I will abbreviate them here.
1.) which drug? Premarin
2.) at what age did you start? Mid 40's
3.) why? To somewhat feminize myself, but mainly to inhibit erections. (See my article under Eunuch Lifestyles for more background.)
5.) what did it do to your sex drive? It diminished the "immediate male response," but did not diminish sexual pleasure when preceded by foreplay.
6.) what effect on erection? The ability in time totally disappeared.
8.) how long did the euphoria last? My late wife had a good sexual relationship up until a couple of years or so before she died.
11.) any regrets? No regrets at all except that I wish now I had become a eunuch in my youth.
I am what you would call a transsexual type. All the psychological tests show that clearly. Problem is that I could never pass as a woman. For me the eunuch alternative has worked out beautifully. As I said, I wish I had discovered it early in life. But, better late than never.

There was never any euphoric feeling. Orgasms did become more intense after more or less full impotence was achieved.robert902 (imported) wrote: Sun Jul 11, 2004 6:29 am 4.) how long did it take to induce this euphoric feeling?

No. (The euphoria as I have defined it.)robert902 (imported) wrote: Sun Jul 11, 2004 6:29 am 9.) was there a point, maybe years later, that the euphoria stopped?
Sex for me got better. I fully realize this is not the objective many eunuchs are seeking. There is no one "right" answer to this. It is very personal.robert902 (imported) wrote: Sun Jul 11, 2004 6:29 am 10.) what are the upsides and downsides to your experience?

Hi MadScientist
Could you be some more specific about your point 10?
I'm a 8 month eunuch, and I don't know if it's related, but since 1-2 months I have some pain in my backside. First it was in the middle section, but went away with some massage. Now I do feel pain where the crack between the buttocks begins, and when I'm seated it does hurt.
Any idea ?

Re: Describe the euphoria you get from chemical castration
No idea what the original source was, or whether the information might apply here, but I remember once reading something about eunuchs in China, where it was mentioned that occasional backache was considered a consequence of castration. If I recall correctly, the modern writer commenting on this, speculated that the back problem was a result of posture changes after removal of the testes. The idea was that, with the testes gone, the eunuch could rotate the upper portion of his hips forward, so that his upper body leaned forward, somewhat the way a woman's body does--this may be the "natural" posture for the human body. But even if the posture was more comfortable, it would, at least for a few months, produce unaccustomed stresses, particularly in the sacroiliac area, and, therefore, back pain. A male with testes, of course, doesn't normally lean forward like that, because his testes would be pinched between his legs.
Quite possibly, the back trouble among Chinese eunuchs could have resulted from some kind of problem with the urinary system, since the urethra reportedly was plugged with a stopple for several days after castration surgery, resulting in substantial buildup of fluid within the urinary tract.
It's been a while since I read this, and I can't remember anything about the title or author of the book, or how the problem might have been remedied.

Not happy, not sad, just really, really mellow. My only regret was stopping, but I fixed that by starting again.
Hope this helped.
