Hi Sag,

I have been trying to think of what to say. I am almost never at a loss for words but this time the only thing I can think of to say is how happy I am for you. Some how that seems OK. Sag I am so happy for you.

I agree with you, Andrew, about taking the calcium. As I reported in the EA last September after my castration in a hospital, my surgeon was sufficiently confident in his aseptic techniques not to shave me nor to use any antibiotics. That is now nine months ago. There were absolutely no after effects at all. There was some swelling of the scrotum but no haemorrhage and no discharge of any kind. The sutures dissolved themselves.

regards to all

Sag,

Sorry that I missed wishing you well for the big day. I have not been online much since my surgery. I am glad to hear that you are doing well and I am envious.

Hello Sag and my very WARMEST congratulations to you. I wish you the best recovery period possible. I would have like to have been online earlier to send you my thoughts but circumstances have kept me offline for a while.

Fortunately you can chat with many good friends here who have taken the path before you and who can advise you about any post surgery pain/rashes etc. If they occur, they'll pass and I hope your future is as mellow and as happy as you wish. Take care and hugs!

Shaving is really a thing of the past for most surgeons; when you shave skin, you damage the follicles and release the bacteria that live in them. This is what causes the folliculitis that sometimes results from shaving.

Most surgeons these days shave, if anything, only the actual incision site itself and leave the rest under a layer of protective sticky plastic.

So, I guess this is a word of advice-- if you're going to have a cutter do it, it is NOT WISE to shave the region within a few days of the procedure.
