Hi, Wannabe,
Can't provide much help without more information. It's essential to know your operating system before any advice can be provided.
Your reference to pop-ups is interesting. If they are occurring when your browser is open, then such a thing is to be expected if you're running one of the many versions of Internet Explorer. Netscape's browser has good pop-up control, and could be a better choice for you.
If the pop-ups occur when your browser isn't open, then you probably have spyware of one sort or another on your machine. In that case, you should run AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy to remove it.

Re: help
hi
first you shout write what OS you use.
under XP exist alot of function u can anable or disable.
but this function not docomented for privat user only for professionel sysadmins.
that sounds for me a good way for a virus or a webbug to provite termination.
just disable the taskchart.

Re: help
If your using a windows system, when you hit ctrl-alt-delete, you should get a box in the middle of your screen, you have 6 options, pick the task manager and you will see the window you want.

Re: help
well this just the user stuff.
sorry i mean u can use policies for each user(for example deactivate ctr - alt- del combination). u can find thos options in the microsoft managment console (mmc).
you have to type mmc in a dosbox.then u can add alot of managmet stuff to the mmc charts.
but if u not know the mmc it will be better you dont use the mmc cause you can realy damage your system.
and if u a virusprogrammer you maybe find a way to manipulat this optins to deactivat some security features.

start the mmc from a dospromt.
then
under datei start menupoint ad sap in
in the open window use add.
add the services
use local computer and press ok
then in the mmc expand the point services.
and scroll to the point "nachrichtendienst" (sorry dont know how this services called in englisch)
then doppelklick on this services.
in the open window use deactivate
and then stopp this service.
close all windows with ok
then close the mmc.
and if u realy have just normal popup try the webbrowser opera.
www.opera.com
this is defently the best browser for a windows system!!!!!!!
there u can choce never open popups. that works very fine . no need for other addware.

clip.....
thanks again all.
Have You opened up the case and vaccumed out all the dust???? You DO have to be carefull with the vaccum hose not to zap any ICs or Curcuit board with static from the vaccum hose.
My daugthers computer would just lockup, reboot and in less time it would lock up. Just getting all the dust out of the heat sink(s) did the trick.
