This is based in large, large part on the work Andrew has done and that is noted in each FAQ. Where I have added or changed the wording I have noted that as well ... not for my credit but so Andrew won't be blamed for my mistakes.

Andrew, if you have any significant objections to your material being used as the basis for the FAQ please let me know.

Everyone else, please use this thread as a place to suggest new FAQ topics, categories, and entries.

The FAQ system in vBulletin can organize things into many levels of topics and sub topics. Suggestions on topic/question wording and organization are most welcome.

Things that would be helpful are:

Suggestions for new topics

Organization changes for existing topics (ie: combine, break apart, create a sub-topic, etc.)

Factual review: make sure information is accurate and complete. Provide additional matierial and sources as needed.

Editorial review: Does it make sense? Are things spelled correctly?

Andrew I have some questions of my own. Things that I "think I know" but want afirmation on.

1. Penis absolutley shrinks with or without hormones? I think so. What is your opinion?

2. Id like to know what you take for hrt. Reason being I want to stop the testosterone, but do not want the sweats and chills.

3. If I cut out the T will my hair stop falling out?

4. If I stop the T will my body oder change?

5. Will my libido go away?

6. Will I get the Calm you all speak about?

7. will my penis shrink at a faster rate without T.

8. Will erections go away for good?

9. I think if I get on a low dose of estrogen does all this happen faster?

10. Will my skin change it's texture?

YMWV, so here are my OPINIONS.

1) Shrinkage of the penis occurs from lack of erections to exercise it, particularly nocturnal erections.

2) I take 2.5 MG Premarin daily to halt the hot flushing. The proper dosage for you will have to be worked out with your physician.

3) Male pattern indeed slows or stops entirely after castration. Facial hair grows more slowly.

4) For many men, yes.

5) Perhaps not right away. Younger eunuchs can remain quite sexually active, if they choose to do so. But if you simply wish to ignore sex, your drive is probably low enough that you can do so without discomfort.

6) Perhaps. I get the impression that the Calm is more likely to happen to those who get castrated for the removal of testosterone, rather then get castrated for the experience or thrill of being castrated.

7) Probably, if you also refrain from masturbation.

8) In the long run, yes. The longer you are off HRT, the more likely this will happen. But no guarantees.

9) Perhaps

10) Your skin becomes softer and smoother as a layer of fat develops under it. Body hair tends to thin out and soften also.

I not only think you did an excellent job, but I think you improved the wording here and there. It should help newcomers undertsand the difference between castration fantasies and castration realities, which has always been one of my main concerns in the EA, as you know full well.

If a person doesnt take testosterone, or if they stopped taking it, Is it possible to starting taking it again and go back to having erections?

Depending on age and other factors, many eunuchs can still have erections without HRT, just not as frequently. And yes, testosterone HRT brings back erections and all the other testosterone induced physical changes...most of the time.

WARNING #1: After some time without erections, your penis may shrink from lack of nocturnal erections. If so, you may not return to former size even after HRT.

WARNING #2: Taking replacement testosterone does not always work. And you should ask for a complete liver profile before starting HRT and every six months afterwards.

Hello and Good Morning: There sometimes can be exceptions to every rule, when it comes to sex, love and war. Keep in mind that we ALL are differen't! What works for one and comforts another is not to be overlooked. I myself have the "Eunuch Calm", yet I take a small dose of T for my bones and to reduce sweats, chills and even depression. Nothing Im aware of is absolute.

I recieved a messge from a new young man who is considering castration. He wishes to know how will being young efect him. Well I would refere him to the Faq on being castrated as a young person. I do, however wish to mention that for everyone it can be different. I also do not know his age. The loss of body hair or thinning may or may not happen. Voice may not deepen depending on age, sexual desire will be lowered depending on hrt or no hrt. I have been up and down the hrt and the without the hrt. I hated sex being my primary goal in life. It is no longer. I can control my desires and my thoughts. My Libido is right for me. My body is right for me. My lack of depression is right for me. So anyone out there, realize that the body is wonderful and it reacts on a very individual basis. What happens to one, or the "norm" may not be the norm for you! Be Careful Out there! PS, I love being a Eunuch, Just simply love it love it love it!!!! Scottie

I have been wondering what would happen if I stopped taking testosterone suppliment. Thank you for your concise explanations.

I don't know if you are aware of research taking place at the Hammersmith Hospital and Imperial College Hospitals in London; re, osteoporosis. They have found that giving prostate cancer patients, who have had orchiectomies, female estrogen HRT patches,not only helps control the cancer, But stops osteoporosis bone loss with the added benifit of bone mass gain. Approx 3% gain.. As we eunuchs are aware osteoporosis ii one of the hazzards of castration. This reseach is on going. Once again thank you for your explanations re side affects.

hi,

so my lover has just come out to me that 'he' is considering castration. I haven't read too much on here about the effect it has on people already in relationships. I support him in any way that I can, but there isn't much beyond that I can do. He needs to know how to make himself happy. I suppose I'm just attempting to educate myself as much as possible. I don't feel I can be in a romantic relationship without any physically sexual aspect, but I dont want to loose him either. I understand that castration lowers sex drive and such, but it is still possible to be sexually intimate. I suppose im just wondering if I should really know anything else, or react in a different way. I'm a little lost and unsure how I feel about things. I really apreciate this site though. Thank You.
