Re: my up comming surgery
You have my best wishes for a successful outcome. Of course, having been in the EA for some time, you know what has to be done before and after the surgery to improve your chances.

Re: my up comming surgery
Congratulations on your up-coming surgery.
Like you I am married. My wife and I celebrated our Ruby Wedding in February 2001 with a church service when our family and friends joined us in giving thanks for our 40 years of wedded life.
It was just before Christmas of that same year that I was diagnosed with castrate cancer and so started on the route towards becoming a eunuch. Like you I had a trial run with 'Zoladex LA' which lowered my testosterone to within the castrate level.
It was as a result of that trial run of 18 months that I was convinced that I wished to become a permanent eunuch. Having had the trial run, I was happy that, for me at least, there would be no side-effects following my castration that I couldn't live with. The only side effect that I suffer is "hot flushes" (or do you call them "hot flashes"). These are a nuisance but, interestingly, I do not get "hot flushes" at a social event or whenever my attention is directed to something interesting that is happening around me.
I did not have any problem in convincing the doctor that he should castrate me. I did write a letter to him in advance of going to see him to fix a date for my surgery. I set out in writing my reasons for wishing to be castrated. I included some quotes from messages to the Eunuch Archive from satisfied eunuchs. Also, my wife came with me to see the surgeon and to give her agreement that I should be castrated.
I was castrated on September 22, 2003. I did post a description of my surgery to the EA. Thanks to sag111 who was one of the first to congratulate me on becoming a "true" eunuch.
It is now 8 months since I lost my balls. I have no regrets. I was castrated in a private hospital (in England) under purely a local anaesthetic so that I could know exactly what was going on. The surgery healed well with absolutely no problems whatsoever.
My wife came with me to the hospital and waited while I had my surgery and then drove me back home afterwards.
I am sure that all will go well with you but, if I can help you from my own experience of having been caastrated, then do feel free to send me a private email to terence@fernside.u-net.com.
My best wishes to you, sag111. Soon, you will, like me, be able to sign yourself as a "very contented eunuch".
Terry (a very contented eunuch)

Yes Terry i remember your post very well and i remember at the time thinking that i could never have that done in the US .And i remembered that you did take your wife with you when you talked to your doctor and so my wife went with me that day also and since she is backing me on this i feel that helped make a diffrence with my doctor. You know we post things in here and at times we probley feel that it dosent make to much of a diffrence but as you can see i feel Terry and others here did help me very much and i do thank everyone for your help.
And YES the doctors in the US did help me and i do feel luckey and i relise not all doctors are that helpful but whatever your problem dont be afraid to ask remember if you never ask you will never get an answer.

Re: my up comming surgery
Congratulations, dear Sag111. This is wonderful news!
Do keep us informed. I imagine it will all go well--you have heard from so many of us about post-op healing that things should be smooth sailing afterwards.
I wish you the best!
Hugs,
Kelly
