NERO 45 - grateful fan!

Post by stan (imported) »

I was very pleasantly surprised and touched by Pueros' dedication in his latest installment. Well this fan is extremely grateful, as the story continues to combine historical and erotic detail to delicious effect. I particularly enjoy the juxtaposition of Paul's puritanical singlemindedness in the midst of this luxurious eroticism!!

Thank you pueros!

P.S. by the way, my earlier query about Nero was prompted by an Easter trip to Rome with which I have - naturally - fallen in love ... There, in the Vatican museums, I saw seemingly endless statues and fragments of statues representing Antinoos, usually in the guise of assorted deities (Osiris, Dionysos etc). While I have always known the story, the sheer number of surviving works resonated with the passion and devotion so eloquently portrayed in your earlier fictionalisation.

Stan, the dedication was my pleasure.

As you refer to Antinous & my story about him, 'Death on the Nile', did you by any chance visit the Palatine Antiquarium whilst in Rome? If you had, you might have seen the graffiti I describe at the beginning of chapter 3, which are still extant, almost twenty centuries after they were scrawled, and viewable in that part of the modern city today.

Just re-read that bit: no did not go to the Antiquarium. Next time though!
