All Good Things Come to an End
Re: All Good Things Come to an End
I think the Archive higher-ups are working on a way to get some help to Mac to keep him online ... I don't have anything definite ... just that my offer to contribute to such an effort still goes.

Re: All Good Things Come to an End
Wolfie, I read that and tears came to my eyes. I was so damn depressed this evening. The most special part that I read was, the part where you were saying who all you respected and loved. When I seen "Lilac" there, thats when the tears flowed. I am honored to be known as one of your friends. I am sure gonna miss you. I know you will be back soon. When I went into the chatroom tonight, I was there for a bit and then you came in. I was so surprised. It really cheered me up this evening.
I appreciate you looking after me like Christina does. And thanks for the vote for me as an OP. Well, good luck at the Casino's as I told you tonight. I'll miss you while your absent. And I will be thinking of you. P.S. you never ask me to (cyber) with you.
take care.
your sweet, Lilac

Hi Mac,
I'm glad you are still with us. You are one of the people that make this a special place.

Re: All Good Things Come to an End
Mac, I'm very glad I caught to speak with you in the last few days.
I found out one interesting thing which sadly I don't think will help you but will help people in the UK, or at least in my county!
The local public library service has free internet access - your id is your library card number and they will give you a password, which you can change.
There is no A floppy drive and you have to pay to have items printed but if you want to check your Yahoo, Lycos, Hotmail account etc then it is perfect.
A screen comes on which specifically excludes users accessing the neat Dell machines for sexual, pornographic or violent or racial sites.
Other than that one restriction, it is possible to run a free PC account on broadband at no cost and you don't even need a PC. I mention it because for some people this will be very useful (you may need to book in online time).
It won't mean access to the Archive I doubt, but it will open up most of cyberspace and give you access to your e-mail accounts - all for no cost... not bad I say!
