Thank You!

Post by Shortie (imported) »

My heartfelt thanks go to the EA Administrator for his position on keeping political posts off this Website. I just wish it had come much sooner.

After reading post after post bashing President Bush and other politicians, my wife made the decision to no longer write stories for placement on the Eunuch Archive. Both she and I used to enjoy reading every page of the Message Board, but as it became more and more politicized, our reaction was to simply no longer visit here.

We always thought the purpose of the EA was to provide a friendly home for those of us who believe that men are born with too many appendages, and that the purpose of those extras is to provide entertainment to the women (and men, if that's your kink) who wish to correct the situation. Political views, no matter from which end of the spectrum, have little or no place here, in our humble opinion. That's why we welcome the decision to no longer allow such posts. Now, if the policy can be enforced, maybe I'll be able to talk Sharon around to letting me post the three stories she's written since her last effort that appears on the EA.

Congratulations, guys. More power to you.

As someone who has in a couple of short weeks already come to regard the Eunuch Archive as "family" I wish to second the idea of banning "Off Topic" political threads. We all have a life beyond our interest in castration and/or penectomy, including political views, but there are other web sites where these potentially divisive subjects can be discussed, allowing this site to be used for inclusive exchanges about our special interest (from whatever perspective we approach the latter).

The admins really do want it to be a welcoming place and though 'censorship' is anti-what-we-stand-for 🙋 ... there are some discussions that are 100% emotional (read: angry) and not productive. Political discourse CAN get that way.

I don't believe that an admin would immediately delete a message like "I liked Howard Dean for the Democrats" or "I think GW is doing a great job" ... and certainly there are on topic discussions like "Are the Dems or Repubs better for the Eunuch community?"

The posts that run afoul are generally of the type "GW is the satanic anti-christ spawn of Lucifer" .... etc.

You mean he's not? <G>

Coming in late, I have no idea what posting caused this, but if it was in THE DEEP DARK CELLER section, I wouldn't see a problem. But outside, yes.

As for your other point, the Democrats tend to support abortion rights, so would probably be more sympathetic to elective surgeries like castration. On the other hand, the Republicans might be more likely to support castration of criminals. But neither would seem to be much help to The Eunuch Community in persuading the medical profession to allow more elective castrations on demand.

(Because this laptop I am using is so slow, I have to disable smilies.)

Not so.

One example...BARF.

Bankruptcy "Reform".

A bill inspired by the credit card companies, researched by the credit card companies, written by the credit card companies, and passed the House by massive contributions from the credit card companies to House Republicans. Guess how much "reform" is in this bill, and how much destroys the historical concept of "a fresh start"?

Opposed by Senate Democrats, who have managed to stall it so far.

Bboy, you can traansfer this to the Deep Dark Celler if you prefer it there.

Just goes to show you that debtors prisons and indentured servatude are not forgotten concepts.

But Andrew, still, don't you dare trust any of 'em. The trial lawyers association won't let 'em pass it, either.
