Hi,
I'm to be castrated on 17 November 2003, less than two weeks from today. I'm going to Philadelphia and I will become a eunuch under the knife of Dr. Kimmel, Dr Spector's associate. The procedure will involve castration and ?removal? or tightening of the scrotum at the same time.
I've been reading the great posts here and, while I'm absolutely looking forward to whatever changes take place as a eunuch, I get mixed feelings about what others have written about the recovery and complications. I plan on a couple to a few days hanging out at home, naked 24/hrs each day for air and assist in healing. ?A good plan?
My question(s) have to do with having both procedures done at the same time, i.e., will drainage be better? And I'm going to be off from my office job until the following Monday, most I've heard say that should be adequate. Opinions?
When I used to work Standardbred racehorses, we cut the colts when necessary. As I remember, we'd walk the colt the following day or two and then hook them up and jog them lightly to keep the wound draining and reduce swelling. We would then bring them in, give a bath, scrubbing the incision with surgical soap, and hose the area with cold water for about 15-30 minutes. Now, I'm not planning to run a mile, but would it be good to walk for the same reasons as the colt?
Any input would be appreciated. My email is boyz2sissies AT aol com if anyone would care to contact me personally.
Thanks,
eunuch michael, ready to enter service

Re: After the cut
I went to Dr Kimmel 9/6/02 just over a year ago.
Reather then walking around naked you may want to get some fempads the thick extra large ones, you will need them for a good week or more. Its not a good idea to be up and around for the first couple of days. Take a Ice pack with you as you will need it. You may be ready to go back to work in a week but two would be better, you will know for sure after your home. As Andrew says, your mileage will very. All of us recover at a different rate and so will you.
Good luck and keep us informed,
River

Re: After the cut
Hi River,
Thanks for your input. When you mention the fem pads, are you referring to the draining and keeping my home from being messed by it? Sounds like it makes sense.
I'm not unaccustomed to diapers, so that might serve the purpose. I plan on taking to the castration a jock, a set of tight briefs and loose fitting ones and will pack sweat pants for the hour drive home the following day.
I guess along the lines of this post, to assist in healing, do you think it's better to keep things tight, like pressure on a wound, or to keep it loose to allow better drainage? My experience is diapers can be fit to do either or both things and keep things outside invisible to others and clean.
I'm going to have to get back to work in a week.
Less than ten days to go.

Dr Kimmel will fit you with 2 jocks as they will get durty (blood stained) and you will want to wash them out. I went in shorts but it was the first part of September, but you will want loose fitting cloths, sweats are the way to go.
Again good luck and keep us in the loop,

Thanks River. Six days to go. Seems odd, but I've yet to meet a eunuch. I guess the first one I'll be with is me. Maybe i'm the only one in my county.

If you really want to meet eunuchs, go to the local urologist and ask if he or she would introduce you to other guys who have undergone Orchiedectomy. Tell them you are going through this procedure and it would be reassuring if you could speak to someone with experience on the matter. You know, this is not an uncommon procedure for older men and young men suffering from testicular or prostate cancer.
Best of luck with your new life...

I wonder how common elective eunuchs are...
