A question for anyone who has been castrated and then taking female hormones.

Does your libido return when you start HRT? If so do you become erect and does it feel any different from when you become aroused with testosterone?

I was castrated 14 May 2001. After 13 months of hot flashes, I began taking Premarin, currently at 2.5 MG per day. I have not noticed any return of libido, and in any case testosterone is the hormone of libido....yes, even in females. They produce small amounts of testosterone in their ovaries and adrenal glands. Likewise, males produce a small amount of estrogen in their testicles and adrenal glands.

Hi there!I have a question for Folk's that are more Medically estute.

{probably spelled wrong} I have been on a battery of Estrogen{premarin

2.5 a day.Occasionally add Depo-Provera .Occasional Estrogen injections.

Last 6 mos 100 mgs of Aldactone a day.4 mos on 2 mos off.I've been back on for about 22 days.I believe that I am reacting a little defferent this time.

Breasts are sensitive but not sore.I actually have more energy.Feel good,

like my hormonal level was low and now very receptive to HRT.My question is:have I destroyed most testostrone output that I am permanently

Chemically Castrated[hope so]?I tried to discuss these issures with my wife but she really couldn't help.She had a historectomy years ago but kept ovaries.So her body still is producing some Estrogen.If anyone would like to comment on this,please do.All the Best,Leona Lee
