Then perhaps someone in the medical community will finally wake up and pay attention to what's going on out there. I mean, how many people have to DIE before doctors at large realize that men can and DO suffer from various conditions that just might require a castration?!

Mostly it's called "peer review". In a hospital there is always a committee that looks over cases to critque them. One of those catagories is "unnecessary surgery".

The Doc's have sort of a "mental block" against this one. I honestly do not know why, except that it gives them the willies right down to their willie, if you get my drift.

It seems like they could do 'em in their offices, too, but again they worry about mal-practice. I know of a few who are actually doing heart caths in their offices. There are all kinds of schemes to make money in medicine. Castration seems like a minor thing, but not for them. Actually, ther should be a Dr. Spector in every community, but there is not. The fees should not be much, either.

You are right. It makes no sense. But I don't know how one would go about changing it, either.

About the only way it will change is more of the botched castrations start happening.

I wonder if people like Catherine could sue Docturs for forcing her to seek other routes because they would not do it or were unobtainable for ungodly charges.

Lovepain, you can sue anybody for almost anything. However, in todays legal climate it would... (please excuse the expression)... never stand up in court.

Speaking of legal action, I wonder about this case:

A young man wanted an elective vasectomy. He made an appointment with a urologist, but the urologist refused to perform a vasectomy because he was only 25, but still billed him for $80.

I always wondered if he could have gotten away with not paying that bill, considering that he was refused services.

All that the Doc could do would be to take him to small claims court. The judge would look at the evidence and make a ruling. If the Doc just reported him to the Credit Bureau the effect on his credit would depend on if he kept all of his other bills up.

Face it, some Doctors are complete, controlling idiots.
