Student cuts off penis and tongue after drinking hallucinogenic tea

A student cut off his own penis and his tongue after drinking an infusion of the latest drugs craze to sweep Germany.

The 18-year-old, only named as Andreas W, from Halle in Germany drank a tea made with the hallucinogenic angels' trumpet plants.

His mother said: "Andreas was behaving normally the whole day until he left the house and disappeared into the garden for a couple of minutes."

When he returned to the house he was wearing a towel wrapped around him and was bleeding heavily from his mouth and between his legs.

The emergency doctor who arrived a few minutes later said the student had cut off his penis and his tongue with garden shears and it was impossible to reattach the organs.

Dr Andreas Marneros, from the local psychiatric hospital the student was admitted to, said: "Andreas will have to receive psychological help for years. Tea from Angels' Trumpets is extremely dangerous as the drug cannot be dosed."

Angels' Trumpets, known for their fragrant and trumpet shaped flowers, have increasingly become popular as an alternative drug in Germany.

Man cuts off penis 'to teach wife a lesson'A Kenyan villager has cut off his penis and testicles with a kitchen knife "to teach his wife a lesson."

Police say Alfonse Mumbo, of Kajulu Wath Orego, near Kisumu, severed his genitalia after accusing his wife, Penina of unfaithfulness.

Officers say the 38-year-old former barber said he wanted "to give her a free hand to go after other men." He told police he loved her so much, he could make the sacrifice.

Mr Mumbo has told the East African Standard (http://www.eastandard.net/national/Default.htm): " It was around 8 o'clock in the morning when I started feeling dizzy. My wife had left for the farm. I don't know what came over me.

"All I remember is walking around the compound anxiously and answering many calls of nature. I found myself disgusted with the penis and decided to cut it off.

"I went into the kitchen, took a knife, undressed and just chopped it off. The knife was too sharp and before I realised what I had done, it was too late."

He said blood gushed out of the gaping hole in his crotch and he says he began screaming with pain. Mrs Mumbo came home 10 minutes after the incident, with her brother-in-law, to find her husband unconscious in a pool of blood.

He was taken to the New Nyanza General Hospital, where medics had a hard time stemming the blood. Mrs Mumbo has now dismissed her husband's allegations of affairs outside the marriage.

She told the newspaper she loves her husband very much, and could not do that to him. The 29-year-old says she feels sorry for her husband and has asked people to stop blaming her for his actions.

"When I am walking around the village or going on safari, those who recognise me talk about me in low tones," says Mr Mumbo, who is recovering from a bladder operation.

Some people have no taste in art.

£240,000 for penis plate

A leading museum has added a bawdy 16th century work of art to its collection, depicting a human head made up of small images of penises.

The work - affectionately known as "dickhead" - was bought for almost a quarter of a million pounds for the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.

The design is glazed on to a ceramic plate and is one of the most celebrated pieces of Italian Renaissance pottery.

The humorous maiolica plate parodies other such designs which were popular at the time it was created in 1536 by Francisco Urbino.

His dish parodies the "bella donna" style of dishes which bear portraits of young girls, by creating the slightly grotesque image out of penises, one of which is pierced.

A ribbon-like strip running around the back of the head bears an inscription, written in reverse, which translates as "every man looks at me as if I were a head of dicks".

A £100,000 grant towards the £240,000 price came from the National Art Collections Fund, the largest it has given for a ceramic object. Further funding came from the Resource Purchase Grant Fund.

David Barrie, director of the National Art Collections Fund, said: "This magnificent piece really made us sit up and take notice - we're often asked to support extraordinary things, but we'd never seen anything like this before."

Man castrated rapist who attacked his sonAn Argentinean father who castrated the man who had tried to rape his handicapped son has received massive public support after giving himself in to the police.

Some 97% of respondents to a newspaper poll said they backed the actions of 49-year-old Miguel Angel Montiel.

Montiel used a knife to cut off the penis and testicles of a homeless man who had allegedly interfered with his handicapped son.

The man had beaten up the boy and forced him onto wasteland near the Montiels' home in Conurbano, where he attempted to abuse him before the boy escaped.

Montiel had been searching for his son and found him injured in the street. After the boy told him what had happened, he went searching for his attacker who he found in the same place.

After castrating the man with a kitchen knife, Montiel later went to hand himself in at a police station accompanied by his family.

He has been charged with serious wounding, while the man he attacked has been charged with sexual abuse and attempted rape. He remains in hospital under police guard.

Newspaper Pagina12 reports that Montiel may escape prison on the grounds that he was suffering a "violent emotion" at the time of the attack.

Penis amputee settles lawsuitA 68-year-old Texas man who said his penis was wrongly removed during surgery, has settled his lawsuit against two local doctors.

The suit against John Dryden and Farid Khoury and the Clinics of North Texas alleged the man's penis had been amputated after an initial diagnosis of cancer in 1999.

However, no cancer was subsequently discovered.

Just two witnesses had been called, including one of the doctors accused in the lawsuit, before news of the settlement was announced, says the Times Record News (http://www.timesrecordnews.com/).

Details of the settlement weren't released, but a defence lawyer said the suit against the clinic had been dropped. The 68-year-old said: "I'm happy with the way it ended."

Joel Steed, one of the defence attorneys added: "It was a difficult decision for the doctors. They didn't want any settlement to be seen as an admission."

;) I guess Mr. Mumbo is no longer known as "Jumbo" Mumbo around the village.
