MALE sex hormones are the main trigger of Australia's biggest killer, coronary heart disease.

A study by Sydney's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital found male hormones such as testosterone -- known as androgens -- activate the genes that accelerate heart disease.

Although androgens are also present at lower levels in women, they only affect these genes in men.

Heart disease kills more than 26,000 Australians every year. It is up to five times more prevalent in men and is the main reason why men die an average of 5.4 years earlier than women.

Castration will cure many problems that the male may have during his life. The real question is at what age to do it?

Maybe we should take a poll,

20 to 30

30 to 40

50 to 60

over 60

somehow I think that this would be answered by the age of the person to the group he/she fits in.

Whilst I am all in favor of any male being allowed to have a castration after their 18th birthday, I also think they should be encouraged to put it off until their 40th birthday.

The reason is osteoporosis. Your chances of suffering from this are reduced if you are castrated after age 40. This is because bone density builds up over the first 40 years or so of your life.

Also, I feel a certain amount of emotional maturity will be reached by age 40, and there will be less chances of regrets over a hasty decision based on too little information and experience.

Well everyone has their own beliefe on things, I still wish I could have been castrated when I was 13.

I know the cutter friend of mine in Michigan that was sentenced to 14 months to 4 years would only do people over 25 and wanted to make sure people were really ready for it.

Then it is a good thing I waited till after 40 to start Depo-Provera.

Well I wished I had started Androcur a lot sooner, it is the best thing I have done in a long time and has help me out tremendously.
