Can anyone tell me more about Dr.Kimmel who does castration? Im looking to be castrated with sac removal. I want to know more about how he does it, the people he has worked on and so forth.

I had a good, professional experience with Dr. Kimmel.
HOWEVER.....and this is ONLY an OPINION...it might be better to do the job in two stages. That is, to be castrated only, let the body heal up and adjust, then have the scrotum removed later. You might want to talk to Dr. Kimmel about this.

Re: Dr.Kimmel
Riverwind would be the best to give you advice on that since I know he had both removed at same time.

Yes I did have both done at the same time, and I have debated if it was wise to have both done at the same time. After a year I think I would still have both taken at once. There is more to heal true but then your done with it. Also there is the expense of two trips and additional cost.
I dont think I would do it any different.

Re: Dr.Kimmel
My question is purely cosmetic.
It is about the scar, after the scrotum is
removed. The scrotum is some of the
wrinkliest skin on the whole body and
just looking smoother afterward would
be kind of nice. But if the scar is big
and ragged (as opposed to fine and straight)
then there could still be some lingering dysphoria.
So my question is, what with all the much more
important issues like hormonal re-balancing, does
Dr.Kimmel even care about whether the scar
looks ugly or not? It is not like it would be
easy to persuade some other plastic surgeon
to touch it up later.
But while I'm here, I also have another question
about how things go afterward: what is his policy
on the harvested tissue? I imagine most people wouldn't
care if they just immediately became medical waste and
we never saw them again, but are any other options
available? Is he willing to suggest, medically, any sort
of preservation techniques?

Re: Dr.Kimmel
Well I know from talking to Riverwind after his castration. Dr. Kimmel was trying to do his best to line things up so it loked nice. When I saw Riverwind's results he was still very swollen so can't really say how it turned out. I know he is happy with the results so I imagine it looks fine.
Dr. Kimmel will let you take your balls home in a jar of perservative.

I wanted to do this, but he told me I wouldn't be allowed to bring them onto the airplane. (This was one month ago).
Perhaps I should have tried anyway. My only regret is that I didn't make more of an effort to bring them home.

Re: Dr.Kimmel
Dr Kimmel took great care and even envolved me in the removal of the scrotum. As I said earler, I would not change a thing. Oh yes the scar, LOL, I had to go look and it looks just like the line you have to start with, so...
Dr Kimmel did let me take my balls home in a jar of formulin. Ask him up front and make it part of the deal, that way after there removed you wont have to argue with him or loose the trophys.
I found a nice jar for them and they are put away on my shelf with a closed door. My grandkids are over often, I dont need questions about it.
Good luck,
River
