Hi All,
I have been taking Androcur for 48 days now. I have been taking 100mg/day for the most part but during weeks 3 & 4 I tried seeing what would happen with 150mg/day.
I am enjoying the effects of Androcur and now I cannot wait to proceed to have my testicles removed permanently.
I have been keeping an online journal oh how I have been feeling each day and what changes I have noticed.
For those of you interested it is located at www.luvpain99.com/Androcur.html
I do try to update it about twice a week if not more. It all depends on how busy I am and what I feel like.

Re: My Androcur Experience
Luvpain,
Enjoyed reading your daily Androcur logs. My brief stint with Androcur has been over for more than a week, and my libido is just starting to come back around. I have totally enjoyed the loss of libido, but I ended up with the worst case of acne I have had in a decade after 3 days on Androcur. In the end, my reason to stop was more because I didn't want to risk sterility since I do hope to have kids someday. I only stayed on Androcur for a week (100 mg a day) and didn't really notice anything until after I stopped... I have not gotten off for the last 5 days, and haven't even tried all that hard to do it. Before Androcur, I ALWAYS needed to get off at least once or twice a day.
My one thought since I've been off Androcur for so long and have still not really regained my libido is that I wonder if I could have just dropped my dosage down to 50 or even 25 mg a day and still have had the desired effect. Sometimes less is more. I'll be honest, I never felt quite myself when I was on 100 mg a day (which is another reason why I stopped).
Keep us informed of your progress.

Re: My Androcur Experience
Well I will keep updating the page about twice a week. I just realized I missed yesterdays dose.
I have noticed an increase in acne not on my face but on my back since being on it, my face has seemed to cleared up though. I have always suffered from acne and from what I had heard castration and chemical castration usualy help clear that up. Well I guess I will have to wait to see what happens when I am physically castrated.

Re: My Androcur Experience
Well it has been over 3 months since I have started taking Androcur. I have been at 100mg/day except for week # 3 & 4. I found when I was at 150mg/day I was extremely tired and wore out easily so I went back down to 100mg/day.
On Oct. 29, 2003 I went to my Doctor to make sure liver was OK and find out what my Testosterone levels were.
Today I got the results back and I am at 140 ng/dl down from last year when I was at 322 ng/dl.According to the lab results the normal levels in a male are 241 mg/dl - 847 ng/dl.
The liver tests OK.

Re: My Androcur Experience
Hi Luvpain,
It's great to hear you went to the doctor for a check. Your numbers do seem a bit high yet. Perhaps you could try 125mg/day to get you down to castration levels and try to keep the tiredness at bay. I have heard from many people (not just on this site) that being tired is one side effect of Androcur.
I too have noticed an increase in blemishes, but have come to the determination that it was happening whenever my doseage was changed. Once I had become adjusted to the new level of meds for a few weeks, my blemishes dissappeared.
