I am interested in establishing a society dedicated to spiritual transcendence through the development, redirection and sublimation of sexual energy. Transcendence would be supported and confirmed by gradual ritual body modification, resulting in nullification (removal of the interior and exterior penis, testicles, scrotum, pubic hair, nipples and prostate.

I do think its an interesting idea though. Practically speaking since it is very difficult to find a doctor to do the surgery it would be difficult to start a group like this.

Then you'd have to get past people thinking you're like the Heaven's Gate kooky kastration kult.

I think the Skoptsi s were mainly interested in castration to eliminate desire and possibly ability to become holier than thou, so to speak.

i would have to agree, from what i read. it was not about anything but purifying the soul from temptation and freeing the mind to focus on their religion. they frequently inlisted guests so you had to be careful of whom you spent the night with as a travelor or you may accidently become a little lighter in the crotch. too bad they don't exist today. i would be traveling extensively in regions where they were.

oh darn, now look what happened. oh well. at least that way it did not look like it was intentional
