Hello everyone,
I peeked into this new forum today and thought I would add to it.
I have felt I should have been female since age four or five. I did express my self at times during childhood, and then tried to repress it during early adulthood, but I could not make my real self go away. Finally, at the end of 1998 I realized that I would always feel like this, and that I really needed to take some steps if I was going to be comfortable in this life.
The very first thing I did was to get an orchiectomy by Dr. Spector in April 1999. During the next several years I saved funds for lots of facial electrolysis (ouch) and HRT, and finally got a hair replacement system. Once I finally attained the appearance that fit my sense of self, I legally and socially transitioned in December of 2002. Last May I left Arkansas and settled in the Kansas City area to get a new start on my life.
I am much more comfortable with my life than I used to be, though the remaining male genitals do feel wrong on me, so I do plan on surgery. I hope to have the funds by 2007 to obtain penectomy and a labiaplasty. I don't think I will try for a vaginoplasty, because that would be more invasive surgery and require a lot of maintenance. I believe I would be content to lose the male genitals and have the outer female ones in their place.
My journey continues

Congratulations on your success. It is hell to be trapped with no hope of achieving your true self. I am envious of you.Sherry (imported) wrote: Mon Aug 04, 2003 2:26 pm I have felt I should have been female since age four or five. Good luck with your future progress.
