Dearest Tonks...
Generally, I would post this on the joke board, but since this subject has been broached, I feel that Paolo would find it quite appropriate to post here. There is obvious symbolism and not so obvious symbolism, so read it again carefully after you stop laughing.
Anna Freud, a daughter of Sigmund Freud became a great Psychologist in her own rite, but nobody knows if this story is factual. (I bet that it ain't!)
Soon after her 14th birthday, Anna came running into Papa Sigmund's study in her night clothes and exclaimed...
(with apoligies to the native German and Austrian speaker out there)
"Papa, Papa! I had ze strangeest dreem! I dreemed that I came to your office, Papa, and there you were with with some workmen, Papa! You were all sitting in in chairs in a big circle. Und you all had theese big lunchboxes. Papa, you reeched into yours and pulled out this great beeg yellow banana. You looked into my eyes and said, Anna! come and join us, vould you like to eat my banana?"
"Please tell me Papa! Vot does eet mean..."
At first a malevolent smile crossed Papa Freud's lips. Then, he looked toward the ceiling. Then, he had no expression for a moment, then a fleeting look of fear crossed his bearded face and then finally, a look of disgust.
Then, he looked at a young Anna standing there in her nightclothes in all of her young innoncence and mustered as much patience as it is humanly possible for a father to have for his young, precocious daughter. He let out a sigh and looked Anna straight in the eyes and exclaimed...
"Anna, sometimes a dreem ees just a dreem, und a banana is just a banana."
