Testosterone and Estrogen Levels

Post by Christina (imported) »

FYI:

I just got the hormone results from a test that was done in April. Even though I had been on synthetic estrogen the numbers look good. Total testosterone was measured at 12 ng/dl. Estrogen was measured at 424 pg/ml. Pretty good considering synthetic estrogen do not measure well under these tests. The results of these tests were done on an HRT regiment consisting of 7.5 mg Cenestin, 200 mg Spironolactone, 325 mg Ecotrin and 60 mg Nefedipine.

Several other tests were done at the same time, one of which included a calcium count. The result was 10.1 MG/DL with a reference range of 8.5-10.4.

My HRT regiment was changed since that time. It now basically consists of the same thing with the exception that the Cenestin was dropped and replaced by Estradiol 8mg. More blood was taken for tests to see if the estrogen levels would be increased with the Estradiol. Finasteride was added also to halt any hair loss and try to regain a small amount of thinning that was taking place.

Of course all the reference ranges for the numbers were compared to a male. The next set of tests will be changed to indicate the reference ranges for a female.

All doses of medication shown are for a total daily intake.

An interesting set of figures. Obviously, you are taking a lot more estrogen then those of us who take it only for control of hot flashes. I hope the estradiol improves things.
