Thanks for all the well wishes! Had a bi-lateral orchi through a scrotal incision. The incision is in the middle of the scrotum. Can't tell a lot about it now. Still a little messy. I was told to expect the worst of the swelling to take place in the first 24 hours. With slight swelling for the next couple day. Old coach has been an ice warrior! Not much swelling yet, will continue to ice today, and then it will be time to stop, ice for too long is bad, will prevent healing. I've taken Tylenol a couple times, and a prescription med the doc give me for cramping. If I've had pain in the scrotum it's been no worse than 2 banging balls! Slight discomfort in the abdomen on either side of little man. Not a bad experience. Yet. Got a few more touch and go days to get through.

FWIW, one of the NP's that was working on me after my surgery said that Naproxen / Alleve was better for swelling than Tylenol / Ibuprofen, etc...

Thanks Wheely. Instructions from the Dr. Indicated not to take that med until 48 hours after surgery. Will start with that in the morning. I know I w

The come out and told my wife they were finished and waiting for me to wake up at 9:20. Doc came out and talked with her shortly after. My guess is it took her less than 40 minutes to nut me. A man's jewels are evidently easy to harvest! A little sore today, but nothing horrible. I asked the Doc to take as much cords as she could. I can feel them slightly swollen in the canals level with my penis. They've retracted back that far. Thats good. I didn't want them hanging around in my scrotum. That's we're I'm a little sore. Scrotum is still weeping a little. But not as bad as yesterday. All in all, not as bad as I was expecting. Wife is thrilled I had the courage to go through with it. I'm so glad I was able to do this for us.

Definitely do what the doctor says... I didn't think it was significant, but the recommendation for Alleve came a few days after my surgery.... I'm 'under-endowed' and had both the balls and scrotum taken off at the same time, and the swelling got so bad I couldn't get my penis out far enough to cath - one of the non-joys of SCI is not being able to pee as you can't relax the sphincters.... (Bowel has the opposite problem) I ended up in the ER because I couldn't cath so they had to put in a Foley for a few days...

I got both done at the same time, and can't really say that I noticed the orchie, as the scrotectomy was more uncomfortable... (Though I don't think I spend much more time in the OR than you did - probably not a lot of difference in how much cutting and reassembly is involved...) What I've seen from folks that did two separate surgeries is that the orchie was a pretty quick recovery, and the scrotectomy took a lot longer to heal and hurt more... I opted for doing both at once as I figured I only wanted one period of downtime and recovery, overall I'm glad I did it that way....

Thanks Castor. 6 days in now. Seem to get a little better each day. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Results are faster than I thought. Sex drive was reduced at the time of the cut, and I seem to be more chill. My Wife greatly appreciates this! We are very happy with the results so far.
