When should I get castrated

Post by manocunfem (imported) »

I am currently 19 and I want to get castrated as soon as possible, should I wait to see if I change my mind or not. I have wanted to be castrated for a very long time and if I could I would go back in time and get castrated when I was 14.

also does anybody have any recs for surgeons willing to perform orchiectomy, preferably female because of my past experiences but male works fine.

There is no need to rush, since everything is fine with your health!

Try to get rid of this obsession...

Take up, for example, travel, sports and other activities that interest you.

And also, of course, by studying and acquiring a profession (after all, you need to earn a living).

It’s a good question, and one I’d say you should work on with a therapist. Even though I’m pretty firmly set on pursuing a trial on hrt with the ultimate goal of orchiectomy & scrotectomy, talking with my therapist about it has been incredibly rewarding and helpful. She’s really helped me in thinking through what I truly feel about what I want, in a way that gives me a greater degree of certainty that I’m genuinely making the right choice for me and not just going off on a goose chase that I’ll wish I could take back someday. I suspect that, given your strong feelings now, you know yourself and your needs pretty well, but if you’re still questioning to some degree, talking with someone may be valuable to you.

I've said this 1000 times if not more... If the gender of the surgeon is relevant to you, you're seeking the procedure for the wrong reason.

Go see a therapist and talk this out.

Looking at the first post, I'd say that if you feel that you have to ask if you should wait, the answer is probably "YES"... However given that you also say it's a long standing desire, further exploring the idea is certainly justified...

A 'test drive' of chemical castration certainly wouldn't hurt if that is an option in your country.

I'd agree 100% with LT that if the surgeon's gender is a major concern it probably is best to hold off until you've figured things out with a therapist. (Unless possibly if it is because you have a general preference for female doctors for all care, since you mention bad experiences w/ male docs)

One of the 'tests' that I have seen many mention is what are your fantasies about - are they about the actual procedure, or are they about what your life will be like as a eunuch? From my personal experience the procedure is about as thrilling as a colonoscopy (without the "cleanout") or other minor outpatient surgery, so fantasies about it suggest that you aren't really ready... If you are more focused on life afterwards, maybe you are...

If you were in the US (or Europe) I'd say to go to your nearest trans-gender center, but I don't know if those exist in your country, or how to get gender affirming care w/o getting lumped in with the hegira (assuming you don't want to be...)

Good luck wherever your path takes you...

Why don’t you start with chemical castration first….just to be sure..it’s a very pleasant feeling if it’s the right thing for you,,,at that point you can make an informed decision..and it’s also easier to obtain
