I just got the news about this potentially very far reaching US Supreme Court decision - https://www.americas1stfreedom.org/cont ... eme-court/
This is NOT intended as any lead in for discussion of the 2nd Amendment, I don't want to go there hear on EA regardless of my personal opinions on the subject. However this is primarily a FIRST Amendment Freedom of Speech case, with a lot of potentially far reaching impact... I'm mentioning the NRA and citing their article only because they are the plaintiff....
In essence the case revolved around the head of 'Financial Services' regulations in NY state using her official powers to discourage businesses from doing (completely legal) business w/ the NRA, because they disapproved of the NRA's political advocacy... The NRA sued because they believed (and the Supreme's just agreed) that this violated their free speech....
I see this as being relevant because it will potentially have bearing on any government efforts to similarly discourage other advocacy groups that are more relevant to us - including possibly medical providers, TG clinics or advocacy groups, LGBT+ groups, reproductive freedom folks, etc...
Seems like good news to me...
Again, please feel free to comment on the 1st Amendment aspect, but let's not have any firearm related political discussion...
