Ai Art - Thoughts?

Post by Paolo »

Do you ever create Ai art?

If so, do you Photoshop it later?

How do you feel about Ai art?

Just wondering. If you hate it, that's fine too!

I can't draw, but I can edit, so I very much enjoy it - especially the nightmare fuel you can get.

No.

No (but without post-processing it often doesn't look right).

Well... in short - AI (artificial idiot) allows anyone produce more semi-believable (on first glance) shit automatically.

It isn't "art". It is craft at best, what it lacks is 'intent'. Which is the key part of the art.

Also - yes, it produces images that are either 'soapy' or 'plastic' or 'nightmare fuel'. And worse yet, it is now every<censored/>where. Every damn article - AI generated image. check. Vaguely on-topic. (Yes, I got good at detecting unmodified ones, unfortunately).

I have nothing against it as a tool, but damn: edit it, do not abuse it, and tag results as AI. (and do not claim them as your own).

I agree with Valery, it's just a toy, but it is fun to play with. Most of the sites offer a "cursed Photo" option, and sometimes, you get really silly stuff that's hilarious.

I am person of many fandoms out there, and using Ai to make images (at least for me) is most entertaining. True, it makes a lot of mistakes. I have noticed that it likes to give people extra digits, such as fingers. Usually 6. Then there's the "flag" stuff, where it says you've entered a forbidden prompt. A shirt on a hanger? A sweater (jumper, for you UK folks!) ?

I was just curious, though. I sort of feel like the weird kid now who brings a toy to show and tell, and no one else wants to play with it! 😄
